Hello friends! Claudia here and I’m so excited to be a guest designer on the SCT blog. Today I’m sharing a layout I created using the Just A Little Lovely collection by Pinkfresh Studio. I decided to dedicate it to our family dog Amber who turned 14 just a few months ago.
SUPPLIES USED: PATTERNED PAPER, DIE CUTS, ACETATE FLORAL DIE CUTS, PUFFY STICKERS, ENAMEL DOTS, PHRASE STICKERS: Pinkfresh Studio Just A Little Lovely , GOLD LAME COLOR SHINE: Heidi Swapp , CUT FILE: Handipaper
The first thing I did was back the cut file I chose to use which took quite a while but I personally find backing cut files to be quite relaxing and it gives you a great base for the rest of your layout in terms of embellishing. I put some foam tape behind the cut file to create some more dimension.
Then it was time to start working on my layering. I always love adding layers behind my photo and most of the time I will use a vellum or acetate layer to have some different textures on my layout. Often times I will use a black and white photo because I love how it contrasts against the colors in the collection.
I’m a big fan of using florals on my layouts so most of the embellishing consisted of adding some of those. I really like the acetate florals featured in this collection so I made sure to add them for a different texture.
I actually didn’t do a whole lot of embellishing on this layout because the cut file was already such a big design element and I felt like it didn’t need that much more. Enamel dots are a great way for some subtle hints of color so I made sure to add a few.
Most of the time I will finish off my layout by adding some gold splatters using the Gold Lame Color Shine by Heidi Swapp. I’ve been doing this for years and after all this time I still love how it looks!
For me, this layout is a reminder of how amazing our furry friends are and to treasure every moment we are given with them.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I had so much fun sharing this layout with you and hope it will inspire you in some way!
