This year, we will be featuring a range of Guest Designers on our blog! Today, we welcome Meghann Andrew to the blog!

Meghann Headshot

Hello there! My name is Meghann Andrew, and I am very excited to be here with you on the SCT blog today! I have been scrapbooking since 2008, when I decided to document my Italian honeymoon with a mini album, but before that, I was a card maker, so you can find bits of card making style in my projects. Since my journey with scrapbooking began, I have worked to find a style that is true to me, and I have been privileged to have created for manufacturers such as American Crafts and Elle's Studio, as well as taught my own class at Big Picture Classes on the principles of design in scrapbooking, which uses the knowledge from my background in interior design.

My scrapbooking style typically includes a few elements: 1) white cardstock, 2) stamps (my love of stamps began with cardmaking!) and 3) lots of pattern and color. The layout I created to share with you today includes all of these elements in a fun way to document a recent trip to the zoo.

Supplies | Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: American Crafts, Crate Paper; Journaling tag: Elle's Studio; Stamp: Studio Calico; Stickers: American Crafts, Studio Calico, Crate Paper; Alphabet: Crate Paper; Die-cut: Crate Paper; Ink: Stampin' Up!

I wanted my patterns to be bright and colorful, but also have a bit of a "safari" feel to them. To add to the patterns in my papers, I also stamped an ikat pattern to the left side of my photo mat.

I typically mix and match different fonts and textures to create an interesting title on my layouts, as I did here with the Crate Paper chipboard alphabet and American Crafts foam word.

Have you ever had an item in your stash that you held onto for that "just in case" moment? This vellum giraffe was that item for me! I've been hoarding it for just the right photograph, and I was so excited to finally use it on this layout.

While creating this page, I filmed a video, so that you could take a peek into my design process.

I had a lot of fun creating this layout, and I hope it gave you some ideas for your own scrapbooking process. Thank you so much for joining me on the Scrapbook & Cards blog today, and be sure to connect with me on my YouTube channel, blog or Instagram account.
