We are so excited to kick off a fun week on our blog today: Adhesive Week! Adhesives are staples in our craft room, but their superpowers often go unnoticed when stacked against fun, colorful collections! This week, we want to highlight their importance, as well as the amazingly creative things you can do with them. In addition to three talented team members sharing their ideas with us, we’ve also invited our partners to share their insight and amazing products with you too! So, to start things off, let’s hear from our friends at Therm O Web!
…………………….
Hello SCT friends! We’re excited to join you for Adhesive Week. Adhesives are kind of our thing at Therm O Web, and have been for more than 40 years! While we continue to add innovative new products like our Deco Foil line and licensed designer partnerships, it’s our hard-working iCraft Adhesives—our stars behind the scenes, that truly let your layouts, cards, and other paper crafts shine!
Today, we’re sharing a beautiful “love letter” layout from Design Team Member Katrina Hunt, featuring the Daydream Collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. While the focus of the tutorial is how to create custom patterned papers, and that adorable love letter embellishment, we’d like to highlight Katrina’s creative use of various iCraft Adhesives to give her layout unique depth and dimension.
First, Katrina used iCraft Easy-Tear Tape ½” to put together the two patterned papers for her background. By using a strong, permanent adhesive, she was able to actually remove the center from her bottom layer and save it for another project. That’s a great tip that reduces bulk in your albums and extends your paper stash! Easy-Tear Tape is acid-free, photo safe, and also available in 1/8” and ¼” widths.
To adhere the large hand-cut rainbow to her background, Katrina used the iCraft XL Tape Runner. This easy-to-load, refillable runner contains 50 feet of permanent double-sided adhesive, so it lasts a long time, and the patented pivoting head is perfect for all kinds of curves, especially rainbows!
Zots Bling, our smallest clear, double-sided adhesive dots, are the perfect adhesive for layering up all the little odds-and-ends that come in paper collection packs. Just look at those tiny paper hearts! Zots Bling is on the job! Just press your embellishment onto the Zot and peel it away from the liner before pressing it to your project. At just 1/8” diameter, Bling is also fantastic for sequins, gems, and other tiny, pretty things. Find more sizes and styles of Zots on our website.
To create more dramatic dimension behind some of her embellishments, like the hearts and butterfly die cuts, Katrina used our ultra-lightweight iCraft 3D Foam Squares. The acid-free, PVC-free double-sided adhesive squares rest on a kiss-cut liner, so there’s absolutely no wasted foam. For even more height, you can stack multiple squares! For a lower profile, use our Gina K. Designs Double-Sided Foam Squares and Foam Tape; they are about half the thickness of 3D Foam.
Do you like to use cut files or intricate dies, like Katrina did to make the white envelope outline? Then you know it’s nearly impossible to use a tape runner or adhesive dots to adhere those delicate shapes to your layouts. That’s when you need a quick-dry precision adhesive like our iCraft UltraBond Dries Clear Adhesive. This all-purpose liquid glue can be used to adhere almost anything to your paper projects, including paper, wood, metal, fabric, glass, buttons, beads, glitter, and more.
Thanks so much for spending time with us today on the SCT blog. We hope you’ve learned some helpful tips and are inspired to give our iCraft Adhesives a starring role in your next project!

Oh. such an amazing giveaway! My type…..buy in bulk! LOL. So you dont run out during a project!
My favorite tip is probably similar to what many others will suggest – always have extra adhesive on hand! A few years back while at our annual scrapbook retreat, 5 out of 7 scrappers attending ran out of tape runner! True story and the scrapbook store had closed the year prior. Thank goodness for a store in town that did have a small scrapbook section where I believe the group almost bought out all the adhesive the store had! Ever since then, everyone has brought extra adhesive with them – lesson learned :) Thanks for this amazing giveaway – everyone can use adhesive!
I like to use low profile tape on my projects to get dimension on my projects without a lot of bulk. This is especially important on my Christmas journal to get lots of layers but still have a months worth of memories fit in one 6×8 album.
Best tip I was given is that “less is more when using liquid adhesives” You can always add more …
My tip, always buy extra tape what a great giveaway!
A different way of using the Ultra bond…apply on top of paper to add a shiny dot or zigzag or line, etc. When it dries, it is also a resist to other inks! Have fun playing with it!
Always have a spare stock on hand. Nothing is worse than running out in the middle of a project.
An awesome giveaway….and who doesn’t need various types of adhesives. I use a lot of adhesives making cards as well as scrapbooking! I hope I am lucky this time around!
Love, love, love the adhesive squares. Adhesives are the life blood of paper crafters. Always have plenty in stock for all your projects. NEVER run out!!.
Always put the cap back straight away on your liquid adhesive. Thank you to Therm O Web for this wonderful prize today.
Aways having extra adhesive is a must. Plus a variety is certainly needed for all the new crafty techniques that I have been seeing & trying to learn.
Apart from the obvious of having too much for spare so I
don’t run out! I frequently use the glue dots in varying
sizes for sequins and droplets etc. Michaels doesn’t sell
the tape runners anymore so I have to get them in the US!
This is a fantastic giveaway!
Great products. Best tip? Have plenty on hand and a variety helps. Foam squares are great for making this pop.
Sometimes I use a littlE liquid adhesive on foam squares so it gives me a bit of time to get it positioned properly before it sticks down
Can never have too much adhesive
My tip would be to always have plenty of all the types of adhesive on hand!
Great products. My tip would be to always have an extra stash so when you are in the middle of a project you don’t run out. Thanks for creating such terrific products!!!!!!
My tip is to have several different types of adhesive available as some items work better with dots or spray while others do well with a tape runner. What a great giveaway!
Nice giveaway! You can never have enough adhesive on hand, buy in bulk is my best advice.
I love that when you use these dots things stay where you stick them, always try to have spares not easy to find them .
I like this product it is dependable hope I can be the lucky winner
Besides having extra adhesive so I don’t run out of it in the middle of a project, I don’t have any other tip. Adhesive is always good to have in LARGE quantities. The moment you least expected, the adhesive is finished.
I use all the foam dot packaging for creating cards and other popped embellishments. I use the leftovers to piece the back together for embellishments so I have virtually no waste on my adhesive!
Awesome giveaway. I have I Craft Ultra Bond Clear Adhesive on my list to pick up on my next trip to the craft store after reading about it on a recent craft blog. I love tape runners. They make applying layers to cards and finishing envelopes so easy.
I constantly monitor my adhesive supply. I never want to be without ALL forms; liquid, runner and dots.
Just like everyone else…having lots of hand is the best tip of all. And especially a good brand like Therm-O-Web! We can;t be without it. Especially during a pandemic!!!
I love Thermoweb adhesives!! They are definitely a must have in my craft room. When I am making a card I often adhere my layering piece onto my card base using a combination of tape runner and liquid adhesive. I use the tape runner on the middle section and run a line of liquid adhesive along the edge. This allows a little “wiggle room” when putting the layering piece down so that I can get it straight on the card base but without having to add liquid glue behind the whole backside of the layering piece.
I use Thermoweb daily it seems. My tip is to purchase good products and keep them on hand.
Adhesive the glue that keeps us moving. I am always trying different adhesives to find the perfect one for me. I would love to try these products.
Such an amazing giveaway! You can never have enough adhesives. Every type of adhesive has its own unique purpose and I tend to use them all often. When using liquid glue, I feel a little goes a long way, you don’t need to apply too much. I usually scribble thin strokes of glue across my element and that gives me a quicker and stronger bond.
Tip: alway check adhesive supply before you begin a project. Nothing worse than having to stop a project when your creative juices are flowing to go stock up.
However, win this generous prize and no worries of running low!
It’s crazy how many different adhesives you use on your projects without even realizing it.
My tip is to always try and tear your tape, so it doesn’t mess up your scissors! It’s great Therm O Web has an easy tear tape. If your scissors do get messed up, I find boiling water plus dishwashing liquid and a good scrub usually cleans them up again.
TIP: When layering use various types of adhesives – this creates texture & even slight height variances so everything sticks better! Thanks for the chance to win!
I used the backing of the pop up foam tabs when I used repostional tape. It keep the adhesive off my mat, etc.
to give a project more demension, I sometimes stack for than one foam to give a variety of heights. Love, love, love foam dots. squares – whatever!
My tip would be…purchase quality adhesives, like Therm O Web!
Nothing worse than finding out, your creation fell apart because you were using sub-par adhesives.
Always chose Therm O Web!
I always keep lots of adhesive on hand so I never run out when scrapbooking. I’d love to try the Therm o web easy tear tape to make scrapbooking easier. Thanks for the chance to win this great prize!
Tip, I sometimes use liquid glass to create bubbles or apply over embellishments for a more glossy look. This is a great giveaway. Congrats to the winner, hopefully me. ????????☺️
I keep lots of adhesive on hand so I never run out. I can’t wait to try the Therm o web easy tear tape on my scrapbook pages. Thanks for the chance to win this great prize.
My tip would be to have not only a surplus, but a good variety of adhesives in your stash. Different types, sizes, and shapes, are also good depending on what shape and product you are adhering to your project. Love Therm O Web and the great variety of adhesives they offer!
Having a good adhesive is so important, as is using the right one for the project. My tip is to have a variety of quality adhesives so you can choose the right one. And of course, to have enough of a stash that you don’t run out!
My tip is to make your layout more interesting is to double foam squares on parts of the page to make some sections stand out by being higher.
And have lots in stock for these special projects.
My tip would be to buy great products like Therm O Web. I love all of their products and hope I am lucky enough to win this prize package.

Great article thanks! I’ve heard so much about Therm O Web and it’s all great! Any product I have tried has worked as it should and doesnt release or fall off later! My tip is to put a dot of liquid adhesive on 3D foam squares give it a bit if wiggle room time. I have not tried the tape runner and would very much love to. Thanks again for this great chance!
Like other people, my adhesive tip is to have a variety of adhesives. Therm O Web has lots of different adhesives for different uses!
We are all in the same page …. you can never have enough Therm O Web Adhesive!!!!
Thank you for the chance to Win this Fabulous giveaway!!
Have an Awesome Day ☺️
I like to use the tape adhesive to apply ribbon on a card or layout so that it goes on straight! I use a grid to ensure its straight :)
I like using good adhesives like Therm o Web, iCraft and Zot. After spending all that time creating a wonderful project, you want to know that it is going to stay together. Other products let you down. My best tip: make sure you have a variety of products on hand so that you aren’t searching for what you need as you are working on a project. And to use a variety on your projects. Adding dimension with foam dots and Zots is a great way to add interest and dimension. I’m using more liquid adhesive now too.
What a great prize package! My adhesive tip is to have a variety of types and lots of extras in your stash.
My tip is to have a variety of adhesives. I’m always using my ATG, liquid glue, xyron, foam tape and dots. I also stock up when I find a good deal.
I love using liquid adhesive. It dries so fast. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
I like to have lots of different kinds (glue dots, runners, foam tapes, etc.) to meet your diverse needs. Thanks for the essential prize package.
