Happy February, my friends! Have you seen the Pantone Color of the Year for 2020?
I was surprised to see this pretty basic color announced as the Pantone Color of the Year for 2020. Honestly, I don’t often consider blue anything more than a versatile neutral, but it’s funny how I’ve been finding myself reaching for this color more often recently.
According to the Pantone website, Classic Blue is a “timeless and enduring blue hue, elegant in its simplicity. Suggestive of the sky at dusk, the reassuring qualities of the thought-provoking [color] highlight our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era. Imprinted in our psyches as a restful color, [it] brings a sense of peace and tranquility to the human spirit, offering refuge. Aiding concentration and bringing laser-like clarity, Classic Blue re-centers our thoughts [and]… fosters resilience.”

So nice to see blue as the color of the year. Any shade of blue works for me. It’s my favorite color and I’ve used so many shades of blue. Lots of goodies will be more “boy” centric with this color. Yeah. More masculine layouts and cards. Loved the card design with the glitter which is now on my shopping list. Thanks for sharing the fun.

I have always loved blue! I look at a lot of my mixed media pieces and they are mostly blue. I naturally gravitate to blue when I’m trying a new technique and when I’m in “collecting mode” of new products it always starts with blues… I guess I’m just on trend ????
