Marla Kress shares some little tricks for big impact!

Marla Kress shares some little tricks for big impact!

Hello fellow SCT readers and followers!  I hope you are enjoying all of the fun projects out there today.  I have a layout to share and actually challenged myself to use more than two photos on a page.  Now for some of you that’s hardly a challenge but to me, that’s huge!  So here is the layout that I came up with.

Basically I grouped the photos and pretended they were one big photo.  Is that cheating?

At the bottom of the page you’ll see the details like the title and the journaling.  But something else that I did is the two little pop up areas.

See the flower?  Most of the time I use my punch to create accents.  So I’ll punch out a flower and place it somewhere on a card or layout as a flower.  In this case I used my punch on a square of paper.  I backed the paper with a contrasting color, in this case hot pink, and placed the flower back down.  It adds just a little detail without being too distracting.  I did the same thing with the circles.

Using my circle punch I was able to pop up three circles, you hardly notice them.  It’s subtle dimension, which works in this case because I didn’t want to detract from my title and journaling.

Thanks for catching up with me today.  I hope you’ve been inspired to maybe use a group of photos, or break out the punches or use hot pink on a page (that’s kind of a new one for me too!)  Happy NSD and keep the creativity flowing!

~  Marla Kress

I also really Love your scalloped canopy too (just like the Surrey canopy). You are making my heart ache for our Summer Home (in Ocean City, NJ). You can also rent a Surrey and ride it until your heart is content (on their lovely board walk), or until your legs start barking like dogs and you willingly cry out for a Kohr’s Ice Cream and Mancho & Mancho’s Pizza. What an Inspiring Collection, Spellbinders. It is tickling good.
