I have been a scrapbooker for close to 25 years. I was first introduced through a friend, and I never looked back. Scrapbooking while moving to different countries helped me to meet like minded people as well as preserving our memoried.
WHAT SCRAPBOOKING MEANS TO ME: memories to pass down to my family and friends – a relaxing way to de-stress – a way to stretch my creativity – my way of telling my story and those that I hold dear to my herat.
I am so excited for this day! It’s the perfect way to spend a beautiful, rainy day of lock-down. Scrapbooking is important to me – whether on traditional pages, in journals or in mini-albums. It records the minutia of the everyday and the thrill of the expected and unexpected celebrations.
Thank you for offering the fun prize – I miss getting that bundle of goodness each month and would love to win four envelopes full of happy mail.
Happy National Scrapbook Day! Scrapbooking provides such joy and balance to my life. The ability to spend time capturing memories in beautiful crafty ways is very fulfilling. Hopefully soon I will be able to share with my scrappy friends in person!
Scrapbooking is the way I tell my story, to remember it , for others to learn maybe and to heal . It’s my expression of emotion, vulnerability and gratitude for daily life
Scrapbooking to me means saving cherished memories and the stories behind them. Never more apparent as I sat with my 90 year old parents going through a tub of their old pictures. It was priceless! With each picture came stories I had never heard, memories that were like yesterday for them as they sat cuddled on the couch reminiscing about days gone by, oblivious to everything. That night I started putting those pictures and their memories into a scrapbook.
Scrapbooking has been a lifesaver this past year! I try to spend a bit of time each day playing with paper, and find it to be a great escape from the chaos of the world. My happy place gives me a creative outlet and time to reset and refresh.
Scrapbooking is calming and relaxing for me. I like all the pretty things and trying new art
I love using scrapbook paper, tools and other goodies for card making for about 20 years. I love learning new techniques and experimenting with new items that are constantly coming out all the time. The art of card making is my therapy when I am in chronic pain or depression.
Scrapbooking gives me a home for my memories that brings me peace and joy to reflect upon on my sad days, yet remembering most of my moments/days are truly blessed.
Scrapbooking and card making as been my saving grace during the pandemic. It has great to connect with like minded people. Sharing my cards with family and friends.
Hello and Happy INSD! To me scrapbooking is a creative a way for me to tell my stories and scratch that crafty itch. I couldn’t live without it !
Scrapbooking means creativity and memories and self love and inspiration. It’s preserving moments in time but also carving out time with friends or time for myself. It’s pure bliss!
Scrapbooking is my life during Covid! It is a way of preserving my family’s history for (I hope) future generations. Currently, I am scrapbooking my husband’s family from 1967 and on. It is fun to see the people in the pictures, but, also to see the clothes they wore, the furniture around them, etc.
Scrapbooking means the world to me. It brings back wonderful memories as I create layouts with photos of happy events. And to have a finished scrapbook of my wedding or my travels that I can look at and share with family and friends for years to come is one of my greatest pleasures.
Scrapbooking is self-care…time to myself to be creative, relive memories, and let go of daily pressures.
Scrapbooking allows me to record moments in time and to be creative. It means a lot to me and has been keeping me distracted during the past year.
Scrapbooking introduced me to my best friends. So lucky to have them, and a hobby that helps me connect, share and make people smile.
what scrapbooking means to me:
THERAPY in every way; creating, sharing, shopping, virtual, for real live and friends. This craft continues to evolve and stay current with thanks to all those involved. Happy NSD everyone! I am celebrating friends, sponsors, makers and creators????
To me, scrapbooking means family history and storytelling. I’ve scrapbooked.since 1982 in high school. Then in 1995 I learned about archive safe scrapbooking and adapted so that my memories will be preserved longer and safer. I’m so excited to spend the day with SCT!!
It means a chance to capture my memories.
Scrapbooking means documenting moments of joy and wonder. It allows us and each viewer to re-live that moment. Using color and embellishments can highlight moods. I love it also when the memories are from my family and ancestors. Then it is wonder and happiness.
Scrapbooking helps me relive my memories and remember all the good times (and some hard times). I love the creative outlet!
Scrapbooking is my sanity saver. Not only do I love the crafting and creative partof it, I’ve met so many like minded people and have a circle of very close scrappy bffs that are juste a short text away when I need to talk.
Scrapbooking is a great social connection for me. A world of like minded people sharing incredible creativity. I have made friends for life through scrapbooking. Gathering for crops, supporting each other through challenges or personal projects, having that special world of all things paper – it doesn’t get any better than that!
I started scrapbooking in high school before scrapbooking was a thing!!
I love to craft and scrapbooking gives me the best of both! Memory keeping and a creative outlet!!
The beauty of scrapbooking is that with a simple embellishment you can build a story of an event, day, time period that will resonate and duplicate your memory of it. Scrapbooking allows us to be storytellers and historians.
Not so much what scrapbooking means for me but what I love about it is seeing everyone’s face remember all the great moments when they look at my scrapbooking pages and the joy it brings to them when they look through the book of memories
To me, scrapbooking has not only been a way to preserve memories but it has been a creative outlet and definitely a way to destress! It has also given me some amazing relationships!
For me scrapbooking means a lifetime of memories documented. From the very first ‘flat’ Creative Memories album I did of the adoption of our daughter from China 20 yrs ago….to the most recent ’embellished’ layouts from the Crop & Create weekend. It’s my therapy really. Namaste. ????
I have a very stressful job so making cards brings me peace along with joy when I give them out to family/friends or when I donate them to organizations.
Scrapbooking is more than a hobby. I am preserving memories so that I can enjoy them in the moment, when I create and for years to come. Plus it’s super fun!
Scrapbooking is a way of showing how events, big and small, are beautiful and worth remembering. It was also my entry point to cardmaking.
To me, scrapbooking is adult Legos. I get to follow step by step instructions to create something beautiful or i can take all the pieces and make it my own.
I’m so excited for all the challenges today! Scrapbooking, for me, is a way to express my creativity and massage my eagerness to learn and try new things, while at the same time helping me to document the details about the things in life that I want to remember.
Scrapbooking is playing with colour and design, a chance to turn off the analytical part of my brain and just let creativity take over. It relaxes me and makes me more efficient in the rest of my life! Playing with photos and telling stories is just a bonus :)
Scrapbooking has been part of my life since before I got married 25 yrs ago. I scrapbooked our wedding and honeymoon, our 3 children and so many memories along the way. I was so excited to participate in the 1st crop and create delivered in November. Sadly only 3 weeks later my husband passed away. This has made me determined to finish telling our story for our children. My promise to myself is to scrapbook weekly, it has become my creative therapy for what we are dealing with in our lives.
Scrapbooking is a way to relax and to preserve memories.
I love reliving memories of my kids growing up. Not only that, it gives me something that I can do to escape the daily chores and do something creative!
Scrapbooking is an escape back to a vacation or just to the memory of a fun picture. It is also a girl’s weekend for me, we rent a house twice a year and scrap for 3 1/2 days, no distractions. We’ve only gotten 1 weekend in this past year and a half and 2 of the gals didn’t make it due to Covid, looking forward to a full house soon!
Scrapbooking is my stress reliever. It brings me great joy to play with pretty things while preserving my family’s memories. While I am scrapbooking I can forget about all the pressures in life.
It is the thing that I can do that puts me into “flow”where I can become so absorbed in what I’m doing that I lose all track of time. It is the outlet for my creativity that I don’t get at my job. Its where I honor my memories and preserve them.
Scrapbooking and card making have gotten me through a difficult year of not just the pandemic, but also being a caregiver. My craft room is a cheerful escape where I can make beautiful albums and cards both for myself and my loved ones.
Scrapbooking gives me the chance to share my family’s story for future generations, I love that not only is this a worthwhile hobby for the future, but that I get to play with paper and other crafty products too! My mom gave me a camera at a very young age, I knew even then that I would want pictures to have to look back to one day. I also had a love of paper, and always had pen pals. Scrapbooking is the perfect blend of all things that are just “me”.
Scrapbooking is a wonderful break from the rest of the things that are going on in my life. I love to make cards and mini albums all day long lol! Thanks for the chance to win a SCT sampler subscription!
Scrapbooking provides the opportunity to be creative and preserve memories. When I am scrapbooking, it links the past, present, and future. In the present I am creating memories of the past for future viewing and remembering. Love it!!!! ???? ???? ????
Scrapbooking has been my therapy. Literally. It is also, a way to celebrate and remember the important moments in life, and a way of refreshing those moments and returning them back to the family – all gussied up! It is connection, it is friendship, it is creativity, it is expression, it is therapy.
Scrapbooking means a few different things to me!!
For starters it is to document & save memories, tell the story of our lives now & before for upcoming generations, & you make the best friends through Scrapbooking! I have an ongoing battle with Depression & this helps me stay focused on the positive in life!
Through this I found out about Crop & Create & attended Virtually to my very first one last weekend ❤️
I’ve just started scrapbooking although I’ve always loved other papercrafting, I just wasn’t sure where to start! But I recognize the value of story telling and I’m slowly starting off in this new hobby.
Scrapbooking is not only a way to preserve our memories, but a great form of therapy! It’s an expression of who we are, who we were, and who we will become!
Scrapbooking for me has been a creative outlet for years but recently have discovered that telling my story matters (thanks Ali Edwards and Jess Forster!). And thru the pandemic I have found strength, joy and comfort in the scrapbook community especially during the crop and create delivered events. They’ve saved my sanity!
Scrapbooking is all about memories. I often look back and relive the wonderful memories I share with those I love past and present.
