Happy Tuesday my friends!!!  It’s Vicki here with a little Mixed Media Fun!  This one is all about the layers and Distress Paint, Distress Ink, chipboard and die cuts.  My favourite things!!!  Take a look…

Vicki2

I really do love die cuts.  This one here is a Tim Holtz Alteration Die from Sizzix called Feather Duo.  LOVE it!  I cut the feather from a sheet of chipboard.  You could use chipboard, old packaging or cardboard.

Vicki3

Start by shaking up a bottle of Cracked Pistachio Distress Paint and then pounce it on a craft mat.

Vicki4

Press the chipboard die cut into the paint and allow it to dry.

Vick5

Love the pattern here!!  Do not cover the enter feather.  Leave a few open spaces.

Vicki6

When the feather is dry, add Salty Ocean Distress Ink with an Ink Blending tool.  Allow the ink to dry.

Vicki7

The paint will resist the ink to create this great effect!

Vicki8

Add Picked Raspberry Distress Paint to a craft mat.  Place a Layering Stencil over part of the feather and add the Picked Raspberry Distress Paint with an Ink Blending Tool.  Allow to completely dry.

Vicki9

The second layer of paint creates a slightly opaque layer.

Vicki10

Ink up a fun background stamp with black Archival ink and stamp an image on to the feather.

Vicki11

Adding this stamped layer create some depth!

Vicki12

Here is a closer look!  It’s fun.  It’s inky.  It’s fast.  I hope you get a chance to give this layered look a try!!!
