Monday with Megan: Happy Glamper & the Great Outdoors!

Monday with Megan: Happy Glamper & the Great Outdoors!

If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest you know my heart pitter-patters for vintage campers—also known as “glampers” [glamorous campers] when they’re all fixed up. In fact, last year I added a glamper to my family.

Isn’t she a beauty? Well… she will be! Trust me on that. I have big plans in store for her! So you can imagine my delight when I noticed glampers popping up in our beloved paper scene. It seemed to start at the Craft & Hobby Association trade show last winter, and, from the looks of it, this trend is still on that uphill climb.

Part of a bigger “outdoor” trend, glampers are an adorable motif that I can’t wait to work with in my crafting. Let’s take a look at some of the latest lines supporting this outdoor awesomeness and see what inspires you to create!

Family Reunion by Echo Park

Wouldn’t a glamper-filled reunion under the stars be a dream? Perhaps I can one day have my glamper ready for such a debut. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy this sweet Mini Theme by our friends at Echo Park.

And you bet I’ll be adding the Oh Happy Day stamp/die set to this mix!

Tangerine by My Mind’s Eye

There is so much to love about this release—the sketched look and feel of the artwork, the brigher side of thet earth tones used, and the slightly retro feel of the motifs. Makes me feel like calling Clark Griswold to set up the next “Vacation.”

Love You S’more by Lawn Fawn

I’ve always known s’mores were sweet, but this stamp assortment, complete with adorable faces you can stamp on your mallows and campfires is THE sweetest!

Friendly Forest and Happy Camper Collections by Doodlebug Design

“Friendly” and “happy” are right—these new lines from Doodlebug are every bit of both! But would you expect anything less?

Hello Autumn by Bella Blvd.

Okay, so perhaps this line is meant to celebrate the upcoming fall festivities, but there are many characteristics that would work wonderfully for your summertime outdoor adventures, including the cute leaves, the various woodgrain prints, and the happy clouds.

Adventure by Authentique

On the more sophisticated side, this collection offers a more vintage feel to the great outdoors, taking me back to my days at Mill Hollow Summer Camp. Boondoggle, anyone?

Under the Stars Simple Set by Simple Stories

Nothing like ending on a cheerful note. The whimsical icons in this set will have you picturing a perfect vacay under the stars. Is that The Big Dipper I see?

So, are you ready to pack your bags for outdoor adventure? I know I am. You bring the mallows, I’ll bring the grahams and chocolate! Happy camping… or should I say “glamping,” friends!

 Pssst….BIG NEWS!

P.S. I have BIG news to share. Next week (eeep!—can’t believe I can officially say that), I’m teaching a class on CreativeLive! I love this educational website and am thrilled to be a part of it! My class is called App to Archive: Social Media Scrapbooking, and it’s all about using your various social media channels (any or all of them) to support your memory keeping and crafting. We’ll look at Pinterest in a new way and discover how it truly is a reflection of our lives. We’ll recognize the story-telling power Facebook has to offer and how to make the most of it. We’ll discover fresh ways to design with Instagram images. And SO much more! I invite you to enroll today. The class is FREE if you watch it live from the comfort of your computer next week (July 23-24). Otherwise, you can purchase the full class, as well as a bunch of bonus materials directly from CreativeLive to watch whenever it’s convenient for you. Oh, how I hope you’ll join me in the fun. Thanks, friends!

I love it all. I was especially impressed with the fence board paper. Where was all this camping stuff when I was scrapbooking my cottage days back in the early 2000s? lol 🙂

  5. Kathleen Spaeth July 14, 2014 at 1:13 pm

Yeah! We also bought a Camper, sorry my Husband would freak if I called it a Glamper, just a few months ago. It is getting a remodel, from us both, as we speak. We are planning on towing it all the way to our beloved South Jersey Shore soon. Megan take your time, our Camper is only a 2010, and set it up the way it suits you and your family. We altered the Bedroom to place a Queen Size Bed inside. I also have such lovely Kitchen Counters and working Appliances. Fresh cooking is a must, in our house! Love all the Paper Lines and I must purchase a few for our Day In The Camper Life Photo Album. Carry On and Go Glamping!

Kathleen, thank you for the wise words. I love that you have a glam… camper. 😉 And I can’t wait to get mine to the stage where we can enjoy it. I’ll be sure to share a picture or two here when that day comes, as I’ve now officially included all of you in my journey, whether you wanted to be or not. LOL
Kristen, HOORAY! SO happy to have you joining me. I really want it to be something special, and having my kind SCT community there will make such a difference. Thank you for the kind support!
