Hello friends! It’s Wendy Sue here today, and I’m excited to share my latest mini album with you! This album is called “Love My Tribe” and features “Spoonful of Soul” by Jillibean Soup!
I would imagine many of you are like me and have a billion and two photos of your kids…and about two photos of you WITH your kids. Last spring, when we were out taking photos of the kids, I handed the camera over to my husband and had him snap a few pictures of me with my little tribe.
These were taken about a month before my daughter’s wedding and a few weeks before my son’s graduation, so you can imagine how tender my heart was this day.
With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I decided to print out the photos and put together a little mini album.
It’s just for me. Something pretty I can sit out on my nightstand and flip through.
Filled with sweet, inspiring words, happy illustrations, and sweet photos of me with my favorite kiddos!
Of course, I had to print out photos of each of my sweet kiddos too…so they each have their own page in my album.
This collection, “Spoonful of Soul” by Jillibean Soup, is perfect for a mom of {mostly} boys – it’s pretty and filled with florals, but the colors aren’t too girly and feminine – a perfect balance!
I made the album itself from my favorite cardstock, Natural White Felt, from Carta Bella Paper. It’s heavy and textured, and perfect for projects like this!
The inside pages are just cardstock covered with patterned paper, and then embellished simply with a photo or patterned paper, and a few die-cuts and/or enamel dots.
I didn’t add journaling (beyond the cute quotes and sentiments included in the collection), except for the year on the inside of the back cover.
I challenge you to get in front of the camera and have someone take photos of you with some of your favorite people! Then create a scrapbook layout or even a mini album with the photos – it will surely become a most special keepsake!

Wendy Sue – I LOVE This darling mini album! It is perfect for so many little gift ideas to give family/friends using this new collection from Jillibean Soup.
A question – How did you bind all the interior pages for this mini album?
Thanks for the awesome inspiration!!
Hi Robin! Thanks for your kind comments! The inside pages are actually little square “cards” and I tied each card (I believe there are four cards – so a total of 16 pages) to a larger outer “card” through the spine. The spine is then covered with patterned paper. I hope that helps! :)
I adore mini albums and this one is such a do-able project. Thank you for the awesome inspiration! Can you share who makes the blank album itself?
HI Sue! I just made the album out of a heavy cardstock (felt cardstock by Carta Bella Paper) – the inside was made by creating square “cards” and embellishing each one on all four sides. After they were all embellished, I used twine to tie them onto the spine of the outer cover (which was just a slightly larger card with a “spine” created by scoring about 1/2″ space instead of a regular fold). I tied them all through the spine and then covered the spine with patterned paper. I hope that helps!
This is a beautiful idea for a Mother’s Day gift! My family moved away from home exactly one year ago, so that would be a cute way t c combine a lot of adventure photos for my mom to keep forever. Thanks for the inspiration! :D
