Happy Friday! This week has been all about getting some rest & relaxation after a busy Crop & Create weekend, so today’s New & Noteworthy post is so fitting, as it features a calm & relaxing colour! Let’s take a look at the latest collection from Creative Memories and find out who has won the 25 giveaways from our big 17th Birthday Week celebration at the end of the post! Hooray!

Colour your world blue with the NEW Creative Memories collection — Cue the Blue! These scrapbooking supplies were inspired by the cool and calming character of the colour blue found throughout nature, from cloudless skies to rain droplets and the deep sea. Its palette is a monochromatic marvel consisting of different tones of blue and features general designs that are perfect for photos of Father’s Day celebrations, baby showers, outdoor adventures, and everyday moments with friends and family. We’ve teamed up with our contributor Advisor Melissa Ullmann to showcase a variety of blue-tiful projects with this collection.

Fall head over heels for this beautifully blue layout by Melissa Ullmann, featuring an array of Cue the Blue designer and vellum papers. The designer paper pack sets a serene scene with circular scrolls, painterly vines, brushstrokes, and distressed diamond tiles, while the vellum paper adds an airy allure with patterns of rippling water, distressed notebook lines, florals, and watercolour vines — perfect for creating layouts of family time, couples, vacations and everyday moments big or small.

In this layout, Mellisa brought out the blues found in her photos with the help of Cue the Blue mats and embellishments. She accentuated the memories using the mats, which not only created the perfect backdrop but also provided space to journal memories. The embellishments she choose gave her layouts a traditional tone with ornate tiles, intricate diamonds, and tags with phrases like “Remember this?” and “Never stop exploring.”

This airy border was created by Melissa using the Wispy Chain Border Maker Cartridge — which creates a continuous cutout of a scrolling, curving wave design — layered over circle cutouts made with the Circle Punch and the Custom Cutting System using the Circle Patterns. She then added the finishing touches to this easy-breezy border creation with Cue the Blue embellishments. The Wispy Chain BMC is perfect for creating borders for memories of birthday celebrations, outdoor adventures with family, and special moments with the loved ones in your life.

Lastly, get ready to be blown away by how easy it is to also make these intricate borders with the Wispy Chain Border Maker Cartridge! Melissa simply weaved strips of Cue the Blue designer paper through the centre cutouts to create these cool cloudy borders, complete with a sentimental Cue the Blue embellishment.

We hope that you see how layering and piecing together all the different products within the collection, you too can create intricate and harmonious layouts to showcase your beautiful memories!

We would love to give this Cue the Blue prize package to one lucky commenter! To enter to win, leave a comment letting us know what the colour blue reminds you of! A lucky winner will be selected at random and announced here on the SCT blog on Friday, April 7th. Good luck, and be sure to find more Creative Memories products and inspiration at all of the links below!
