This morning we’re excited to share the winners of our Nominate a Frontline Hero campaign! A few weeks back we offered our readers an opportunity to share the stories of Frontline Heros they knew and nominate them to win a fabulous prize package from SCT and many of our partners. The heartwarming stories you shared (HERE) have meant so much to us and we thank you for taking the time to highlight these heroes that make a difference every day in so many ways.  Each story is different as we navigate this time but the messages were the same, people helping people. There is no greater joy. Please join us as we celebrate our Frontline Heros and share these three amazing stories.

Here are the randomly selected winners:

I would like to nominate my daughter Angela Malcolm who is a director at a Nursing Home in Napanee On. She has been working extra long hours as has many to keep everyone safe and well. A great team along with her for this unusual ride… Everyone going the extra mile to keep all residents happy and entertained. She has a very supportive husband and daughters who also are going the extra mile to help as needed, cleaning, cooking etc., They have understood beyond measure the need to stay home, to stay safe and stay well on her behalf. Angela has used her talents to make little treats for her nursing staff with help from her daughters. At the end of a long day she gets home to sit and have dinner with the family altogether which her husband has prepared. After dinner it is time to go out for a mystery drive with her girls and chat about whatever comes up. A big high five to all our front line workers ???? ~  Evelyn Price May 19, 2020

………………………………..

I nominate Janet Peterson. She is an Radiologist and has had to X-ray almost all the Covid positive patients who come to her hospital because of the cases of pneumonia. We hear about Drs & Nurses, truck drivers, grocery stockers and clerks, but you don‘t hear much about about the medical techs. She is at much risk as the better known medical staff. It used to be that she would run a card making class once a month. But anthem pandemic stopped that. She missed it so much and the pleasure and stress relief it gave her that she started a face book group for her students and now holds a work shop monthly on line. As she is a paper crafter I know that craft surprise would really cheer her up. ~ Mary Zalapi May 20, 2020

………………………………..

I would like to nominate my crafting buddy Shellian Blackwood. Shellian is an awesome ICU nurse here in Mississauga. Shellian is also a mother who has not been able to be with her daughter since the end of March. Working in a busy ICU looking after patients that have Covid -19 is difficult when you have young children at home. Shelli is finding the balance between work life and home life. At work, she is caring, compassionate, hard working, no nonsense nurse that is there for you if you get in trouble, she is happy and charismatic and a blessing to work with. At home she is a caring compassionate, no nonsense mom who is there 110% for her daughter even during these Covid times when she can not be with her. Shellian uses crafting to de stress from working at the hospital. She is ingenious and an expert in her craft. Shellian is my frontline hero. ~ Andrea C Anglin May 23, 2020
