Today we welcome our friends at Honey Bee Stamps to the SCT blog and their design team member Bobbi Lemanski! We can’t wait for summer, and today’s cards that Bobbi is sharing with us will give you a taste of those sweet summer days! Let’s see what she’s sharing with us today.

…………………………….

Hi SCT friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with two fun cards featuring products by Honey Bee Stamps. I am loving the warmer temps and the bright, sunny days. Spring is here and summer is on its way! I can’t wait. I created these two cards that feature the colors of summer and some very fun and FINE-apples!

Supplies | Honey Bee Stamps: Fineapple stamp and coordinating die sets, Pineapple Cover Plate Base Layer die, Pineapple Cover Plate Top Layer die, Bee Cool stamp and coordinating die sets

Now, let’s have some fun with these sweet, crowned beauties!

For my first card, I started by using the A2-sized Pineapple Cover Plate Base Layer die cut from Neenah 80lb white cardstock. Since the die’s width is narrower than 5”, I made this card slightly narrower than a traditional 5” X 7” card. My card measures 4-1/4” wide  X 7” long. I used scraps of oranges, yellow and a light aqua to create sections of color under the openings of the die. This base die is designed to be used with the top layer die (used on my next card), but I like to use the dies alone, too.

I stamped, heat embossed with gold metallic embossing powder , colored, and die cut my cute pineapple using the Fineapple stamp and coordinating die sets. The coordinating die set includes a cover die that layers on top of the stamped image. I die cut the top die from metallic gold cardstock and added white highlights using a white gel pen. I colored the pineapple’s crown using Copic colors: BG23, BG11 and BG10. The glasses are from the Bee Cool stamp and coordinating die sets. I die cut the frames from black cardstock twice and layered them. I added white lens to the frames and colored them using Y02, BG000, YR00 and BG10 for an iridescent lens look. The pineapple was added to the card base using a foam tab to make it dimensional.

I stamped the “Cool You” phrase from the Bee Cool stamp set using Versamark and heat embossed it with gold metallic embossing powder on a strip of light aqua cardstock. The front section panels were attached to a white card base to complete the front.

Inside, I stamped the pineapple design using a metallic gold ink and the phrase from the Fineapple set in black. I added tiny specks of color on the background using fine tip markers to match with the colors on the front of the greeting. Tip: I used fine-tip markers instead of Copics so that there would be no color bleeding on the back side of the card base. Ta-da. It’s done! This card fits inside an A7 envelope for mailing.

For my second card, I used the same sets, but this time I used the Pineapple Cover Plate Top Layer die. I die cut the top Layer die from Neenah 80lb white cardstock and layered a grassy green color cardstock behind it. I attached both layers to a metallic gold layer, allowing approximately an 1/8” border around the die cut design. All three layers were attached to a 5” X 7” white card base made from Neenah 80lb white cardstock

I stamped, heat embossed, die cut, and layered the pineapple, similar to card one. I added the white highlights on the fruit using a white gel pen. The crown was colored using Copics in G00 and G05. I attached it to the die cut section using a foam tab

I  heat embossed the phrase from the Fineapple stamp set in gold metallic on a strip of vellum paper. I attached the vellum on the short ends to the card front using Bee Creative Precision Glue. This glue dries strong, clear, and fast. It’s the perfect glue for cardmaking! I added metallic dots on the top and bottom borders using Nuvo Crystal Dots in bright gold to match the gold frame and pineapple.

Inside the card, I stamped the “Be a pineapple” and heat embossed it in gold. I added a few more Nuvo Drops underneath to coordinate with the front. The card offers plenty of room to add a personalized message inside, too. This card fits inside an A7 envelope for mailing.
