Hello, friends! Thanks for stopping by for our next day of Partner Celebration fun! Today, it’s all about the adhesive, and the creative ways that you can use it! Let’s hand it over to our friends from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L who encourage us to think outside of the box and use our adhesives on the outside!
In commemoration of SCT’s Partner Celebration and our 20th birthday this year, we have created a tiered birthday cake! Using a variety of Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L products, Margie Higuchi designed this wonderful creation to inspire everyone to think beyond just sticking items together.
We feature products in clever ways. Use the Creative Photo Corners to make textures and cake border accents, add shine to cake surfaces with Metallic Transfer Foils and Adhesive Sheets, make rainbows with 3D Foam Circle Frames…and so many other ideas!
Using the Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside technique, stretch your adhesives into custom embellishments and have FUN with them. It’s so easy. For easy foiling, remove the top liner and use Metallic Transfer Foil. Place the foil (color side facing you) to the adhesive, gently rub, and remove the sheet. Reapply the foil as needed. Use other media in your stash such as pigment powder, glitter, flock, and even embossing powder with a heat tool.
The cake started as a set of three nesting paper mâché round boxes that were Gesso primed and painted in white acrylic. Each layer was decorated in a combination of Creative Photo Corners, 3D Foam Shapes, and Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets, among other 3L adhesive products. Very cool cake! I use a lot of double-sided tape and micro/mini dots. They are a main stay!
My mainstay adhesive is probably double sided tape but liquid glue is a fairly close second.

Love the cake, very creative and such a good idea for a centrepiece. We tend not to eat birthday cake but it would be lovely to have this as the focal point. The adhesive I mostly use is liquid glue.
200 percent the Easy Runner is my most used. Foam pop dots/shapes is second.

The project was amazing! I have to stay that my most used adhesive would be wet glue but dimensionals in all shapes & sizes are a strong 2nd for me.

Tape runners for the win!
I think my most used adhesive after my tape runner would be dimensionals dots…I pop up ALL THE THINGS. :)
My favorite and most-used adhesive product is the EZ runner refillable dispenser. I love the refillable dispensers. The prize package has a heart ez runner that would be great to make my own heart ephemera with a little glitter and lots of other news things to try!
The most important adhesive for me is foam squares in all sizes and double sided tape. I’d be lost without them!
