Today, designer Virginia Nebel is here to share a fun and colourful frame with us. How sweet!

Here she is with her tutorial:

Here’s a fun home decor project to showcase patterned paper. For this project, I used an inexpensive mirror frame from Ikea, an 8 x 8 square piece of patterned paper, chipboard, and acrylic stamps.

a) Cut the 8 x 8 patterned paper into 64 1-inch squares to create a mosaic pattern. First, cut a 1-inch strip and then further cut this strip into eight 1-inch squares. Assemble the 1-inch square pieces back into their pattern. You will end up with 64 individual mosaic squares.

b) Place the squares onto your frame by forming 2 rows along the top, bottom, and sides leaving about ½- inch gap from the outside edges. For the middle, you have the option of using the squares or placing a 4 x 4 photo in the middle. When you are happy with the mosaic placement, glue the squares directly to the frame. I just use my regular scrapbook tape runner for this step.

c) Randomly ink some squares and embellish with chipboard.
