SCT’s 12 Days of Holiday Giving – DAY 1!

Good morning SCT friends! It’s that time and we are thrilled you’ve joined us to kick off our annual “12 Days of Holiday Giving” event! Over the next 12 days, our team and all our industry partners are gathering together to share creative inspiration and some gift-giving joy with YOU! The best readers in the whole world! We have been counting down each day as it’s not every month we come together to give away over $2,000 worth of prizes and today’s the day. Are you ready to hum our favourite song at this time of year….let’s do it together…

“On the 1st day of SCT’s 12 days of holiday giving, SCT shared with me….beautiful holiday cards from designer Sheri Reguly and a fabulous prize package from our sweet friend Heidi Swapp, another fabulous prize from our friends at Totally Tiffany and a little something, something from us here at SCT!” 

Good morning, SCT friends, Sheri Reguly here! As the holidays are quickly approaching, I created two cards to share with you today that I hope will inspire you. I have the very best of intentions to create all of my holiday cards by hand this year, we’ll have to wait and see how that goes ;)

All of the GORGEOUS papers and embellishments that I used for my cards are from the new holiday releases by Close To My Heart. So much goodness to choose from!

For my first card, I trimmed the pink grid patterned paper to size, then matted it onto a red patterned paper background. I trimmed the blue patterned paper to fit perfectly centered within the grid-patterned paper. I used a corner punch to cut decorative photo corners from cork and adhered one to each corner of the blue patterned paper. I applied two border stickers across the front, embellishing the top one with a red enamel dot on each end. I applied adhesive foam to the back of the adorable “snow globe” sticker and adhered it to the center of my card. I then adhered my sentiment stickers to the bottom right portion of my card. Lastly, I adhered a beautiful bow accent, and a foliage sticker backed with adhesive foam, to add the finishing touch and add some wonderful dimension.

For my second card, I created my background using two of my favorite papers from their holiday release. The light pink band is the bonus strip on the “baby blue snowflake” paper. I wrapped two widths of decorative thread just above the pink band. I backed the “snow globe” sticker with adhesive foam and adhered it to the top portion of my card. I applied adhesive foam to the back of the three snowflake die-cut accents and adhered them in a random format to my card. I backed the three “tree stickers” with adhesive foam and adhered them to frame the snow globe sticker. The sentiment stickers were then adhered towards the bottom right corner of my card. A curled piece of decorative thread was adhered to the back of the bow embellishment and then adhered directly below the tree sticker on the left-hand side. For a finishing touch, I applied four enamel dots within the strip of pink patterned paper and added the slightest hint of shimmery glitter within the snow on the tree stickers.
