SCT’s 12 Days of Holiday Giving – Day 12!

It’s Day 12 of our 12 Days of Holiday Giving and we are so excited to share all that we have in store for you today! We love how these 12 days bring together our team, our industry partners and YOU!  “On the 12th day of SCT’s 12 Days of Holiday Giving, SCT shared with me…layout inspiration from Creative Team member Nathalie DeSousa along with a HUGE prize package from American Crafts and SCT!

“Hello there! Nathalie with you today just in time to celebrate the most magical time of the year.   With so many celebrations happening, time to document our cherished memories is little.  So, today I want to share with you a simple idea to make a quick and beautiful Christmas layout.

This layout features the new Pink Paislee Together for Christmas collection.   I started with the woodgrain paper as the background for this page, and then cut a strip of different patterned papers ( at 3×12”, 3.5×12” and 4×12”). The right edge of the paper strips was distressed and then glued to the right side of the background.

I repeated the same sequence of paper strips on the right side of the page, but this time, the strips were cut at 1.75×12”, 1.5×12” and 1.25×12”  and glued to the left side of the background.  Once the background was set, all that is left to do is add your picture and embellishments on a diagonal line.

To bring a winter feel to the page, I used a cut file from Handipaper to cut a series of snowflakes.  I clustered a few of them so that they will create a soft and delicate background behind the picture and embellishments.

The picture was backed and layered with papers from the collections, and then glued on the top left corner of the page.  I added embellishments in clusters following the diagonal line of the design.  The red color in the embellishments made it easy to create the diagonal line of the design.     Once I added my last embellishment cluster at the bottom of  the page, the small space on the line was the perfect spot to add my title.

All was left to do was add my lines of journaling and a few scattered sequins on the page.  The simple design, along with the delicate die cuts and the beautiful collection just made this page come together in a short amount of time.   Make sure to try it on your next page and share it with us.
