Good morning! It’s Day 3 of our 13th birthday celebration and we’re glad you’re here to share the day with us! Today, Creative Team members Nathalie DeSousa, Jill Dewey Hawkins and Latisha Yoast have some amazing projects to share and our friends from Totally Tiffany, Therm O Web and Photoplay Paper are here too! If you’ve just joined us for the first time, welcome! We hope you’ll start at the beginning of our celebration HERE. If you’ve joined us the last two days, welcome back!
Hi there! Nathalie DeSousa with you today to share a new layout that celebrates those special birthday memories using the new Say Cheese 4 collection from Simple Stories. Though this collection was designed to document those special visits to a theme park, its colors, designs and embellishments can easily help you create a birthday celebration keepsake.
The inspiration for this page was the balloons that are next to my little cousin in the picture, and the Hooray paper from the Say Cheese 4 collection. Balloons always reflect celebrations, so I set to make them the centerpiece of this page. My choice was to paper-piece them using various papers from the collection and cut files from the Silhouette Store.
Once the balloons were pieced together with some hand stitching, they were set on the middle of the page. Punches were used to create the stars and dots that embellish the balloons. The paper bow that holds the strings together also comes from the collection (the paper clip attached to the bow was carefully removed) and creates a grounding point for the picture.
The picture was then backed and layered with papers from the collection and set next to the paper bow. Ephemera and stickers were then used to create embellishment clusters around the picture and the page. A large chipboard sticker -as a title- and some lines of journal complete this page.
I hope this inspires you to get creative with your paper collections and remember to share your finished pages with us; we would love to see your birthday memories!! XO
~ Nathalie

Hello and Happy Day to you! Jill Hawkins here today. I’m sharing a fun little gift package to give to someone on their birthday! Who says we should only decorate cards or pages? I thought it would be fun to see if I could *treat* this gift bag as a card, and so I did exactly that!
I decided to use these very spring-like colors—Spring-like, in the nature sense—lots of greens and blues! Oh, how in the middle of January I longed for these greens and blues!
First, I masked off an area on this gift bag with painters tape, being sure to get the super tack off before sticking it to this paper. Once the area was quarantined, I blended on several different Distress Oxide Inks—Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, Lucky Clover and my favorite of all time, Twisted Citron! ;)
Once I felt like the colors were blended well, I took a stencil overtop the whole thing and then back with each color and blended over the stencil. It gives the whole thing a very subtle touch that isn’t dominant but just adds a little flair and texture.
After that, I took some black paint and added some little ink splats to give it a little more somethin’! I removed the temporary tape carefully, and voila!! It turned out delightful! I finished off the gift bag with the Happy Birthday sentiment. J
I thought it would be fantastic to have a fun tag to go along with the packaging. And when you’re making your own, you get to customize and match every last bit! Hooray!
I masked off some strips with tape and blended the inks on one by one, before stamping the sentiment. After that was all dry, I added a sweet little felt heart, some stitching and twine. I can’t wait to gift the whole ensemble to someone special! J
Supplies CARDSTOCK: Taylored Expressions; STAMPS, DIES: Paper Smooches; Stencil: Neat & Tangled; INK: Ranger, Tsukineko; FELT: Taylored Expressions; ADHESIVE: 3M
I hope I have inspired you to think of simple packaging you can personalize and make your own! I think it really ups the wrapping game, don’t you?
Thanks for joining me here today—
Jill Dewey Hawkins

We all have grand ideas and thoughts on handmade items we would love to give to someone as a gift. There are only 24 hours in a day, so I allow myself grace. Sometimes that means buying a cupcake or brownie or whatever treat that was intended to be homemade. How do you fancy up a store bought treat? With a handmade topper and matching card of course!
Materials Used: Lawn Fawn Wavy Sayings Stamp set, Fancy Lattice Backdrop, Simple Wavy Banners, Spring Fling Pattern Paper, Layered Butterflies, Lawn Fawn Glue and Lawn Fawn Black Tie Single Cord;
SSS heavyweight cardstock; Altenew Black ink
Today I am sharing a coordinating card and treat using some of the newly released Lawn Fawn stamps and dies! To start, the card base was created by trimming a piece of clear card stock to 4.25 x 11 inches, then scoring at 5.5 inches. This will be the base of the card. On the inside of the card, adhere a trimmed aqua piece of card stock (4.25 x 5.5 inches) using a strong adhesive. With white cardstock and the Lawn Fawn Fancy Lattice Backdrop die, run through a die cutting machine and you will have a perfectly cut panel to adhere and place on the outside of the card. Embellish with diecut butterflies, a stamped sentiment and pearl enamel stickers. Tie black twine at the top.
Since the cupcake was made by a bakery, all that was needed was a cut wooden skewer or lollypop stick, a diecut butterfly, foam adhesive and twine.
There you have it, a beautiful birthday card and yummy cupcake ready to gift. This would be the perfect way to tell a co-worker, friend or family member Happy Birthday!

My most favourite product is a tie between two tools. The MISTI and my die cutting machine. Both of them are used with every single card I make.
Love that layout! Might be pretty boring, but I love my paper cutter and it is essential! ????

Jills’ Birthday Bag certainly ups the wrapping game! I will be doing a few soon, thanks for the idea!
My favourite product,…….is too hard to choose. I really cannot pick a favourite……….it depends on the project…..today I would say it is …… Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive! I’ve used it for years, it is my go to glue, as I’m a tad impatient and this glue doesn’t make me wait to get on to the next step when assembling my masterpieces.
So there you have it, my ALLTIME, FAVORITE PRODUCT is Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive
Love all the beautiful projects today! Great inspiration. One of my goals this year is to make a birthday card for all the ladies that live on my cul-de-sac, along with a homemade treat (ha ha). The die cut treat topper by Latisha is a great idea! It’s hard to pick a favorite product but I would pick Distress Oxide Inks.
More wonderful project ideas, guys! Thanks so much. And, yet more wonderful give aways! Wooo Hooooo! My favourite product??? Hmmmmmm I love it all, but, I really like bling, border punches, Cats eye ink pad and metal charms!! hehee How’s that for being decisive?!
My big shot is my favorite product because there are so many amazing dies and embossing folders that take card making to the next level. I also love the look of heat embossing. It still blows my mind to watch the powder as it heads and gets glossy.
Wow! Yes, you really did have me at paper! Love it. There are too many wonderful products for me to pick just one fav!
Happy birthday again from Troy Missouri! I guess nothing happens without adhesives and I love my atg runner but I am always a sucker for sparkles glitter and bling!!
Beautiful projects. I especially like the birthday layout – the true epitome of a birthday! I really have so many favorite products it’s hard to choose just one but if I can only one, I guess I would say paper. You can use it in so many, many ways and the same paper can look so different in each project – so versatile, beautiful and fun to play with. Guess that’s why I have so many places filled with paper! LOL
Love all of today’s projects and the giveaways are awesome!
My favourite would have to be BoBunny”s dotty paper!
My ATG adhesive gun is my favorite tool of all time. Coming in a close second is probably my Cricut!
Happy Birthday Week! Love the magical moments layout ????. My favourite tool of all time is the Creative Memories Multi Purpose Tool. It comes in handy for something every time I create.
SCT does it again with amazing artwork, sponsors and great prizes. My all time hands-down favourite product would be my paper trimmer. You cannot scrapbook without it. Thanks again SCT for the opportunity to win one of these amazing products.
I reach for embossing powder a lot!! But foiling – – so many options – – has become my new obsession. Happy Birthday!!
Favorite product of all time … the truth is that I do not have any (if I do not have it, I’m looking for a substitute!). Tools, yes, I think the only one that has become essential in my scraproom is my big shot! (has no possible substitute for it! hahaha)
Very cute and creative designs on the layout, gift bag and tag, and card with cupcake topper. It IS hard to pick a favorite scrapbooking product , but I guess my first love would have to be patterned paper. I love Photoplay paper- beautiful prints and great quality.
My hands down favorite product is a tough one. I love many products so can not pick just one.
