Hello everyone! Anya here for Day 2 of SCT’s 12th birthday celebration! Welcome! There are so many reasons I love our hobby, but one of them is that we can use scrapbooking products for more than just layouts and cards. I’m sure you’ve used them for decorations, parties, gifts and more. Since our theme this month is Birthdays, I wanted to share a quick and easy birthday favor that I created for my daughter’s friends when they come to her birthday.

I think that handmade gifts have a special meaning and value. Every time I created similar little notebooks, the girls loved them! All that’s needed to make one is a sheet of paper with 4×6 Journaling Cards, a few sheets of coordinating patterned paper and a pack of notebook paper.

You may create these as simple or as decorated as you like. I kept mine pretty simple since I really liked the designs on the 4×6 Journaling Cards patterned paper. For my notebooks, I used a sheet from the “Imagine That Girl” collection by Echo Park Paper. To create these notebooks, I started by trimming two 6×8” pieces of white cardstock and folded each in half. These were used as front and back covers of the notebook. I adhered one of the 4×6 journaling cards to the front cover and a 4×6” piece of patterned paper to the back. I also created a few more folded pages from the patterned paper to be used as dividers. The rest of the notebook was filled with notebook paper trimmed to size. All I needed now is to punch holes, add rings and decorate each cover with brads and ribbon. Whenever I have time, I like to add pockets, envelopes, interactive elements and other details to these fun books.

I must warn you, these are very addicting to make! You can also make these any size, any thickness and any theme. Just grab a paper collection and start assembling your handmade gifts.

Supplies: Paper, brads, chipboard: Echo Park; silver rings: Office Max; Hole Punch: ACMoore; Notebook paper.

Thank you for joining us as we celebrate SCT’s 12th birthday! And now it’s giveaway time!
