I am excited to be back today with eight simple festive cards using products from two of my favourite companies – Core’dinations and Jillibean Soup. I kept the supplies and tools to a minimum with suggestions for alternatives so you hopefully can make these cards in time for the holiday season.

Let the card making begin!

Supplies:
– one sheet of French Roast Grid (Core Impressions – Jillibean Soup Collection)
– one sheet of Begonia (Core Essentials)
– one package of Jillibean Soup kraft cards (four cut to 4″ square, four left in original size)
– one package of Jillibean Soup Christmas Chestnut Soup Journaling Sprouts
– 3 yards of Jillibean Soup twine (or similar)
– one package of Maya Road chipboard houses (or similar)
– Making Memories paint (Evergreen)
– We R’ Memory Keepers Corner Chomper (or other corner rounder)
– We R’ Memory Keepers Crop-a-Dile (or other small hole punch)
– sand paper or sanding block
– Helmar foam layering tape (or similar)
– adhesives (glue or tape runner)

Instructions for “Christmas” card:

1. Begin by cutting the card base to 4” square.
2. Cut a 3 ½” square of Grid paper. Round each corner. Sand and adhere to the card base.
3. Adhere the “Christmas” journaling sprout in the middle.
4. Paint three houses green (Evergreen – Making Memories). Adhere the middle house with layering tape and the other two with glue or tape runner.

Instructions for “Countdown to Christmas” card:

1. Cut a 4 ½” by 3 ¾” piece of Grid paper. Round top two corners.
2. Punch two small holes in the bottom of the Grid paper approximately 3/8” in and ½” up from each edge. The holes will be about 3” apart from each other. Using 30” of twine, thread the twine through the holes and finish with a bow in the front. Adhere to the base of the card.
3. Adhere large “Christmas Trees – Snow – Angels” journaling sprout. Adhere the “Countdown to Christmas” journaling sprout with foam layering tape.

Instructions for “Joy” card:

1. Begin by cutting the card base to 4” square.
2. Cut a 3 ¾” piece of Grid paper. Round all four corners. Sand and adhere to the card base.
3. Adhere large polka dot journaling sprout to the middle of the card. Adhere “Joy” journaling sprout with foam layering tape.

Instructions for “Joyful Present” card:

1. Cut a 5 ¼” by 3 3/4” piece of Grid paper. Round all four corners. Sand and adhere to card base.
2. Adhere “Joy” journaling sprout to large scalloped green edged journaling card. Adhere to left side of card. Adhere present journaling sprout with foam layering tape to the lower, right hand side of the card.

Instruction for “Mittens” card:

1. Begin by cutting the card base to 4” square.
2. Cut a 3 ¾” square piece of Begonia cardstock. Round all four corners. Sand the edges to reveal the lighter coloured core and adhere to the card base.
3. Cut a 1” by 3 ¾” piece of Grid paper. Sand and adhere to Begonia square in the middle.
4. Adhere mittens journaling sprout with foam layering tape to the medium journaling sprout with the brown edge. Adhere those journaling sprouts to the card.

Instructions for “Santa Was Here” card:

1. Begin by cutting the card base to 4” square.
2. Cut a 3 ¾” square piece of Grid paper. Round all four corners. Sand and adhere to the card base.
3. Adhere large scalloped journaling sprout with red edge to left hand side of the card.
4. Paint a house green.
5. Adhere “Santa Was Here” journaling sprout to the right hand side of the card.
6. Attach green house with foam layering tape.

Instructions for “Snowman” card:

1. Cut a 5 ¼” by 3 3/4” piece of Grid paper. Round all four corners. Sand.
2. Punch four small holes in each corner of the Grid paper approximately 3/8” in from each corner.
3. Using approximately 40” of twine and starting from the back side, sew a simple border. Adhere to the back at the starting and ending points.
4. Adhere sewn Grid paper to card base.
5. Adhere snowmen journaling sprout with foam layering tape to the middle of the card.

Instructions for “Traditions” card:

1. Cut a 5 ¼” by 3 3/4” piece of Begonia paper. Round all four corners. Sand the edges to reveal the lighter coloured core.
2. Punch two small holes approximately ¾” in from the bottom two corners. The holes will be about 4” apart. Using approximately 30” of twine, thread the twine through and finish with a bow in the front.
3. Paint three houses green.
4. Adhere “Tradition” journaling sprout to the left hand side of the card. Attach the middle house with foam layering tape and the other two with glue or tape runner.
