Hello friends! It’s Mindy Eggen here with you today to share some really quick and simple Mother’s Day cards. While it’s always fun to go all-in on our cards, we need to remember, that it’s the thought that counts. That may sound a little cliché but it’s very true!

Heat embossing is a great starting point when you want to create a card. It’s gorgeous, elegant, and very quick to do. I have lots of large floral images in my collection. I love to use them for this technique because they take up so much of the card front.

For this card, I chose the Happy Flowers stamp set from Gina K Designs. I’m embossing it in silver onto Dusty Rose cardstock.

You can personalize this a little by choosing your recipient’s favorite color.

I like to keep the large image the focal point which means I’m choosing a smaller sentiment. For this card, I chose a touching sentiment from On My Mind by Gina K Designs. By heat-embossing it in white onto black cardstock, it’s going to stand out quite a bit.

You can always dress this up a little by adding a bit of ink blending to the center of the flowers or a few embellishments. Either way, it’s a striking design and easy to make.

Another quick and easy card can be created using scraps of cardstock. This is a go-to trick for me whenever I feel in a rut! I simply trim coordinating colors of cardstock into thin strips and adhere them to a card front either straight across, or diagonally. I used pinks and greens because they reminded me of flowers, which my mom loves.

All you need is a sentiment at this point. I used the Bitty Buzzwords from Honey Bee Stamps to create a Thanks sentiment die cut in silver and layered onto black cardstock.

There are lots of coordinating sentiments to go with the “thanks,” so I chose one that was most appropriate for my intention of the card.

For some subtle embellishments, I used the Foliage Fillers from Gina K. Designs die cut from white cardstock and vellum, then layered behind my die cut word.

I can then write Happy Mother’s Day on the inside and add a personal message.

I hope this post has given you some ideas on some quick and simple Mother’s Day cards. It’s also a great way to dig through your stash to see what would fit these techniques. Thanks for joining today and see you again soon!
