Hello, friends! It’s Jana Eubank, here to share another sketch-inspired layout with you! One of my favorite features from each issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today are the BEAUTIFUL, free sketches! They are the perfect starting point for a layout and I find so many ways to use them and be inspired by them.

If you’re a single-page layout creator, don’t forget to look at the double-page sketches. You can always adapt the sketch to fit your project. In fact, for today’s project, I created a single-page layout using the right side of the following double-page sketch from the Spring Summer 2024 issue:

I am featuring the beautiful Sketchbook collection by Bea Valint for American Crafts on this page.

Supplies | Bea Valint’s Sketchbook Collection by American Crafts: Patterned paper, stickers, ephemera, cardmaking kit, puffy phrase stickers, enamel dots; We R Memory Keepers Frame Punch Board; Other: white twine, staples, stitching, edge-distressing tool, adhesive

I loved how this sketch featured a background of patterned paper. Patterned paper is one of my favorite supplies and oftentimes, I find it difficult to narrow my choices. With this sketch, I was able to choose several to create a layered background. I added stitching around each band for additional texture and detail.

I also loved how this sketch had a cluster of layered elements in the left corner, highlighting the journal block. I had so much fun sifting through the Ephemera die-cuts & stickers choosing tags, tickets, and florals to combine together.

I had two photos I wanted to highlight for this layout. I pulled out my We R Memory Keepers Frame Punchboard and the cards from the Sketchbook cardmaking kit to create custom frames for both photos.

I layered a narrow banner die-cut together with a couple of ticket strips at the bottom of the page to give my title a landing spot. How cute is the puffy phrase sticker?! I love the way the cheerful colors of the letters tie everything together from the rest of the collection.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope my project inspired you to grab one of the sketches from the Spring/Summer issue and get creating.

See you again soon!
