Stampin’ Up! Inspiration Saturday…and a giveaway!

Stampin’ Up! Inspiration Saturday…and a giveaway!

Good morning and welcome to Stampin' Up! Inspriation Saturday on the SCT blog!  The Stampin' Up! Idea catalogue is one that when it lands in the office we cannot wait to dive into each year and then as bonus the Holiday Idea Catalogue comes and again we can't wait to dive into it!  We are lucky to be working with two amazing demontrators to share two of the latest kits in the Holiday Idea Catalogue and feature some of the projects they created with them.  If you think they are just for holidays, think again!

Build a Banner Simply Created Kit
Build A Banner Simply Created Kit

Christmas Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit

Banners have been a hot home decor trend for a number of
years.  We use them for birthdays,
holidays, and a fun welcome home.  Now
creating banners for all occasions has never been easier with these two kits.  The Build A Banner Simply Created Kit includes 18 blank canvas banners, 9’ of jute twine, a Stampin’
Spritzer, and a set of fabulous alphabet and image stencils.  Pair all this with the Christmas Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit and you’ve got a holiday banner done in a snap…and so much more!

To celebrate Stampin’ Up! Inspiration Saturday we’ve brought you some
great inspiration from demonstrators Julie Olivier and Cathy Caines.

Let’s have a few words from Julie about her projects:

1 Birthday Card - Julie Olivier

“Pinwheels make me happy!
So for my birthday card, I wanted to create a really colorful background
that would go well with the pinwheel.  I
used the stencil from the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit and sponged one
color at a time. Then I moved the stencil over the first rows that I had
created and sponged the space in between with Soft Sky ink.”

3 Christmas Card - Julie Olivier

“The Christmas Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit has so
many nice embellishments, I wanted to use them to make a Christmas card. I
reduced the size of the rosette to fit the card more adequately. Combined with
the Silver Glimmer Paper, cut with the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies, it makes
a really "sparkly" card!”

4 Merry Christmas Single Banner (2) - Julie Olivier

"A single pennant is a great way to make a simple but elegant
Christmas decoration. I used the embellishments from the Christmas Banner
Simply Created Accessory Kit to decorate it in no time."

6 Present Box - Julie Olivier

“Sponging Silver ink on your present box is a great way to
make a nice box without using too much paper!
With the help of the stencil included in the Banner Kit, it's
even easier!  Top it with some
embellishments from the Accessory Kit and you
have a nice little present box!”

7 Love Card - Julie Olivier

“I challenged myself to use only the Banner Kit to make a card (with the exception of some cardstock to make the
card itself). So I used the 3 stencils and the pennants to create an
interesting background. Then I used the jute twine included in the kit to write
the word "Love" and the eyelet in the corner of the pennant as the
center of my flower. I cut a big heart from one of the pennants and colored it
directly with the re-inker to get a really vibrant color! I love the contrast
between the lighter background and the darker red.”

What beautiful projects Julie!  Thank you so much for sharing!  Now let’s see what Cathy Caines has to share with us.

9 Awesome Card - Cathy Caines

“I've been a little addicted to monograms lately – I love
how you can personalize a card or gift tag quickly. Using a sponge dauber and
the Whisper White Craft Ink, I created this "Awesome" card.

16 Banner album2 - Cathy Caines

“When I saw the canvas pennants, as well as the jump rings
in the Simply Created Build a Banner Kit, it screamed "Mini Album" to
me.  I am a scrapbooker at heart and I am
always pulled in that direction.  The kit
made it so easy after I printed my pictures to create an album. Little
embellishments were needed after I used the stencils and my re-inkers. As an
extra little detail, I hastily sewed every photo. Stitching in any project
takes it to the next level. This is one project that I will love forever.”

11 Package - Cathy Caines

10 Gift wrapped (2) - Cathy Caines

“Believe it or not, I've had Christmas on my mind.  In fact, with the help of the This and That
Season of Style Album, I have been getting more organized.  I am actually starting to tick people off my
list. Not only do I have things bought but now all I have to do is slide the
gifts in these pre-made gifts bags and boxes!
Using the Tag-a-Bag Gift Box and the Tag-a-Bag Gift Bag, as well as the
Christmas Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit, I quickly put together these
gifts. (Only 73 days until Christmas?!?)”

17 Christmas Tree - Cathy Caines

“I (heart) rosettes. I decided to create a Christmas tree by
cutting down each rosette in the kit just slightly. One quick tip is to use hot
glue to adhere the rosettes together. You can make this tree with the Accessory Kit and the Frosted Finishes Embellishments as
the topper.”

Thank you ladies for some amazing inspiration to get those creative juices flowing.  Would you love to create some of those projects?  Our friends at Stampin'  Up! would love to give one lucky SCT reader not one, but both of these kits!  All you have to do is leave a comment below by October 31st and if you have any Stampin' Up! punches, we would love to know what your favourite one is.  Hands down, mine is this one…

I really like the creative use of the Stencil, Julie, to make the bright Chevron background on the Pinwheel Card. That took some patience, nice ink colors, and a steady hand. Cathy, I like the use of the Canvas paper to make a Mini Photo Album. I especially like the use of the stitching on your photo, a great looking lighthouse, too. I am very new to Stampin’ Up, as I just had my local Demonstrator drop off the Catalog Yesterday, so I don’t own any of the Punches yet. I am exited to look at, study, and tab the pages. I am going to my first Stampin’ Up Card Party next week and I can’t wait to see their Stamps, and pretty Embossing Background Folders, in action. Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Fall!

Love the Christmas tree done with rosettes; it just might be my new centrepiece for our Christmas Dinner table!!!! I love the blue pallet, something different is always so fresh. Thank you ladies for all your hard work! My favourite punch is Elegant Butterfly, but Bird Builder and Owl Builder run a pretty close second! Thanks again

  163. Astrid October 16, 2013 at 12:34 pm

Ohhhh, I love these kits, but even more I love the projects that you two gals came up with using them. You really thought outside the box on these projects….I can’t believe that I didn’t think of the mini-album myself!!
As for a favourite punch, seriously???? I have most of them, so to choose a favourite would be very difficult. I suppose the ones that I go to the most are also the most boring….my circle punches…but by sheer use they would be my favourite. After that would be the scalloped circle, and the modern label, and the decorative label, and the flowers (all of them), and…

  164. April W October 16, 2013 at 1:40 pm
