There are so many fabulous new products to share with you, so we’ve invited demonstrators Colleen Vassos and Angela McKay to showcase some of their favourites. All of the projects today feature the brand new Build a Birthday stamp set, one we’re sure will be a fast favourite for you too!

Build a Birthday stamp set

Let’s see what Collen has created to share with us:

6 - Birthday candles - Colleen Vassos

“Customers new to stamping and card making always want to know what they need to get started. The answer is stamps, paper and ink! With just a few simple supplies you can create stunning cards! My first card features the stamps directly on the note card, the second is a stepped up version using Dimensionals.”

8 - Blooming cards - Colleen Vassos

“Everyone always wants to know what else they can do with their stamp sets, so check out the grass and the flowerpot on these cards. They are from the pedestal stamp! And the stems for the flowers, that’s the stamp with the flags (minus the flags).”

9 - Tip top Taupe card - Colleen Vassos

“Again I like to show other uses for stamp sets, and a cake isn’t just for birthdays. Just choose a neutral colour scheme and this becomes a wedding cake. I used part of the greeting, just the word ‘wishes’, and added a congratulatory sentiment inside.”

10 - Box, tealing and kisses - Colleen Vassos

“I love giving little gifts to my customers at events and these boxes are ideal. The Handpicked Framelits worked with the greeting and the candle! The chocolate kisses are coordinated with the paper, check out the bottom of them.”

7 - Happy cards - Colleen Vassos

“There’s some fabulous washi tape in the new catalogue called Cherry on Top and I just couldn’t resist using it to create another fun birthday card for our theme today. I just love the look of the sentiment cut out with the Hello You Thinlits too!”

Thank you so much Colleen! Your projects are amazing and truly show the versatility of this set!  Now let’s see what Angela McKay has created to share:

2 - Birthday wishes card - Angela McKay

“My new stampers love a stamp set that can be used with just some Whisper White cardstock and a few ink pads.  Build a Birthday is right on the mark for this!  The photopolymer makes for a seamless layout too!”

5 -Birthday card - Angela McKay

“After creating a clean and simple card, my customers and I really enjoy stepping it up with some stunning designer series paper and coordinating envelopes.  That same clean and simple image can really pop when made to be the focal point of a more complex layout.”

3 - Birthday treat - Angela McKay

“So many of my customers have small children and party favours are always something they are looking to create themselves.  By pairing the Build a Birthday stamp set with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, you’ve got an unbeatable combo.”

1 - Treat bag - Angela McKay

“We all look for versatility in stamp sets and this one has it!  After my monthly stamping get together in May, many commented on the fact that everyday stamp in the set would get regular use.  It has the whole package, images and sentiments. Using just the simple banner image with the sentiment had a striking effect.”

4 - Dot card - Angela McKay

“As a demonstrator I’m always looking for fun ways to share cards with people.  A non-traditional fold, some gorgeous designer series paper and these fun, funky stamps are the perfect way to get ready for a birthday!  This is a birthday stamp set with no age limits!”

Thank you so much Colleen and Angela for sharing your wonderful projects with us today! We have loved seeing your innovative ideas!

As a lovely surprise today, our friends at Stampin' Up! would love to share this Build a Birthday set with you!  In fact, if you click on their brand new catalog (here!) and tell us what your absolute "must have" stamp set is, I bet we could ask them nicely to include that too!  For an opportunity to win, please leave a comment below by June 30th!  Good luck!

Do I be selfish and choose the one that I LOVE or do I choose the one that I know my grandsons would have lots of fun with? If I win this I will let you decide if I am selfish or gracious! The more I get to know and use Stampin’ Up! products, the more in love I fall. The quality of their products and the non-stop inspiration makes them one of my main go-to suppliers for beautiful supplies and top-of-the-line tools. My copy of the new catalogue already has the pages dog-eared, marking the MANY things I would love to purchase 🙂 The “Build a Birthday” set is so sweet and if I have to pick just ONE other must-have stamp set, I would love to have the “Another Thank You” stamps. I think I make thank-you cards more than any other kind, so this would be a fantastic addition to my supplies! Thank you very much for today’s inspiration and another awesome giveaway!

  17. Charity Chamberlain June 6, 2015 at 2:36 pm

Fabulous creations! I love how versatile this stamp set is! I love that it can make the cake or candles! My must have stamp set from the catalog would be the Sprinkles of Life Photopolymer Stamp Set. I love it because you can so clouds, ice cream, cupcakes, or even a tree! Stampin Up did a fantastic job with their sets in this catalog. Your getting more bang for your buck with these sets being able to do multiple things! I will say though that it was hard to choose just one favorite and must have stamp set because the Swallowtail Butterfly has always been my favorite and has been at the top of my wish list until the new catalog was released.

  18. Janet Cobb June 6, 2015 at 2:43 pm

Oh, my…just when I thought I had my mind made up! 😉 These are all so great…guess my list is gonna get a lot longer now! Number 1 on my list has to be the Heartfelt Sympathy stamps. 117. Valerie Anderson June 10, 2015 at 6:01 am

Oh gosh, I can’t pick just one “have to have”set because I want so many, but the two types of cards I make the most are birthdays and Christmas, so anything that would work for those two themes are “have to haves”. Love them all though!

  118. Regina Furman June 10, 2015 at 7:29 am

Love the versatility of this set! Oh the things I could make. Looking through the catalog the one set that really stood out for me was the Sheltering Tree set. Just love the shape of the base and leaves, and all of the little accessories (the rake, bike).

  119. Kim June 10, 2015 at 7:33 am

  136. theCook June 11, 2015 at 8:13 am

Love the building stamps that are much more versatile than just one image… cake layers and candles can be made with those rectangular stamps, but also so many geometric backgrounds!

  145. Kim K June 12, 2015 at 9:42 pm

Thank you SU! for the giveaway, I’m really digging that washi tape, and I love the cards Colleen made. What a great idea! I have to say though, the Build a Birthday set is pretty genius too. 🙂

  146. Christine Kosmak June 13, 2015 at 12:10 am

OH CRAP!! My “never ever gonna end” wish list just took a pounding! I didn’t even get past page 35 and had to stop! There are just too many on my that I would LOVE to get! One query on the “Over the Rainbow stamp” set 138770 is what is the first word? , I think it’s meant to be “God” but that first letter is in no way a G!! My favourites so far are Heartfelt Sympathy, Thoughts and prayers, Blessed by God, and Trust God!! Oh dear! I’m going to have to find a copy of the catalogue to drool over and mark all of the stuff that I’d LOVE to get! Which would be most of the catalogue! lol!!

  147. Cheryl June 13, 2015 at 10:42 am

I love the boxes you made. I like to do the same thing with little gifts and I like the little candle off to the side. Thanks for the chance to win.

  148. KT Fit Kitty June 13, 2015 at 6:48 pm

Oh these look amazing! Count me in!

  149. Maye M.L. June 13, 2015 at 8:55 pm

It is great to see SU products showcased here. I have not been to a demo in more than ten years. Love the flexibility of the birthday set, had missed the faux washi tape card, really great effect, I was thinking on a full background. The catalog is quite impressive, the variety of products makes it very difficult to choose. I would have to say it is between No Bones About it and Butterfly Basics. Both are close to my heart, as a scientist and because butterflies are my symbol. Cheers!

  150. Angie June 14, 2015 at 11:45 am

I love Amazing Birthday! There’s alot of sets I want!

  151. Susan June 15, 2015 at 8:53 am

  152. Sharon T June 15, 2015 at 10:07 am

Endless birthdays through out the year. I really like the remembering your birthday set in the new catalogue. I am enjoying making cards. My daughter is enjoying making birthday cards for her friends for birthday. This would add to our small collection.

    Love the birthday cards!

love this stamp set! thanks for a chance to win!

  155. Lesley S. June 17, 2015 at 9:29 pm

My “must have” from the new catalogue, is “Awesomely Artistic”. I think it will complement last year’s “Butterfly Basics”, but also offer plenty of creative opportunities on it’s own. Thanks for showing us some wonderful projects!

  156. Julia June 17, 2015 at 11:35 pm

Awesome! Love stampin up! Need the hexagon stamp set! Love so many things, starting my wish list!

  157. Kathleen B June 18, 2015 at 12:32 am

  158. Amber M June 21, 2015 at 5:48 pm

These are fantastic projects – and what clever way to use the Build a Birthday stamp set! I think that set is my must-have from the new catalogue – it’s so hard to choose as there are so many fantastic products!

  159. Julie Blais June 28, 2015 at 3:22 pm

Thanks for all the great ideas for the Build a Birthday set! I love seeing the atypical ways people find to use stamp sets. One of the sets on my wish list is Gift from the Garden; which I have already come up with many ideas to use it!
