Stamping has fast become one of my go to ways to embellish just about all of my projects. I love how stamps can be used over and over again and never look the same. Simply change your stamped background and ink colors and viola the same stamp is transformed and can be used repeatedly always having a fresh new look.
As simple as that sounds I have always found stamping a bit intimidating and consider myself a reformed stamp-a-phobe. I have always loved the idea of stamping but the thought of doing it directly onto one of my projects gives me a panic attack. What if my image isn’t clear or if I don’t like the placement my entire layout would be ruined? How did I overcome my fears I really didn’t I simply worked around them and found a way to incorporate stamping on my layouts that fit my style.
The easiest way to incorporate stamped elements on a layout is by stamping on plain flat white cardstock with black ink. The combination of black and white eliminates the guess work. Then once you start to feel brave then you can start adding colored inks or even colored cardstock or patterned paper.
Using simple shapes like circles and tabs I created over a dozen of stamped elements for this layout. I often stick to white backgrounds since it’s often the cleanest and easiest way to work stamped elements on to a layout. I mix things up I used 2 also used 2 shades of pink ink.
Supplies Used: Bazzill Cardstock, Patterned Paper Simple Stores/Bo Bunny/Bella Blvd, Washi Tape Bella Blvd, Stamps Technique Tuesday, Sequins American Crafts, Enamel Dots Doodlebug, Circle Punches EK Success, Ink VersaFine/Memento Lux, Silhouette Cutting System and various fonts.
Once you start getting comfortable with stamping start playing around with different mediums or papers. I recently have added gold embossing powder and glitter to my list of recent stamping go to techniques.
