Welcome to the SCT Blog today! It’s Mari Clarke here, and today I am honored to be a guest designer, sharing a new 12” x 12” scrapbooking project with you! The layout I have created documents the beautiful moment when my daughter shared a first look on her wedding day with her best friends. The layout includes some simple mixed media and fussy cutting details that I hope will inspire you!

Supplies | Cardstock: Bazzill Marshmallow; patterned paper: Carta Bella “Oh Happy Day” collection; puffy stickers: Pinkfresh Studio “My Favorite Story”; mixed media: Prima Art Basics Transparent Gesso, “Oom Pah Pah Pink” Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals

I started my project by adding some Prima gesso to my Bazzill white cardstock base. Once dry, I added watered-down Oom Pah Pah Pink Magicals in a vertical strip left of center on my white cardstock base.  I let the color move on the paper by lifting the paper and letting the color flow.

I tore a wide strip of pink gingham patterned paper from the “Perfect Floral” Carta Bella “Oh Happy Day” paper and added it to the left side of the layout with some tape runner adhesive, leaving the pink Magicals visible on the background. I fussy cut the florals from the “Lovely Floral” paper from Oh Happy day and layered the pieces along the mixed media, adding dimension with foam adhesive.

I printed my black and white photo at 3.7 x 2.7 inches. I added foam adhesive to the back of the photo and adhered that to a pink mat using paper from the Oh Happy Day 6” x 6” paper pad. I also added some sewing to the left side of the layout.

To create the title “Sweet Beautiful Details”, I added a puffy phrase from the Pinkfresh Studio “My Favorite Story” collection as well as ephemera and a sticker from Oh Happy Day. I sprinkled the layout with a few puffy hearts and a few more fussy cut florals.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my project and are inspired to use some subtle mixed media and fussy cutting to add detail and dimension to your next layout! I love this “Oh Happy Day” collection; it is so bright and full of spring colors, and the Pinkfresh Studio puffy stickers are the perfect pairing with the Carta Bella “Oh Happy Day” collection. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog! Have a wonderful day!

Hi everyone! I am Mari Clarke and I am so excited to be part of the SCT Blog today! I am a long time scrapbooker; I started memory keeping over twenty years ago when my two children were small. I was hooked at my very first Creative Memories event and never looked back! I love to spend my free time paper crafting, making cards and scrapbooking! It is particularly fabulous during the long Canadian winters in Saskatchewan where I live with my husband! I am semi-retired from a career teaching English and French. I still substitute teach and am enjoying that as well! I am so grateful for the time that I have to go to events like Crop & Create where I can meet with old friends, new friends and of course the SCT family! You can find me sharing more of my projects on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Patreon and my blog!
