Hello SCT friends! It’s Erica here with you today to share a summer layout using one of the many free cut files available on the Scrapbook & Cards Today website.

The Scrapbook & Cards Today website is filled with so much wonderful content and inspiration, but did you know there are a ton of freebies, too? I love using cut files on my projects and you can find so many free ones on the SCT website! On the new layout I am sharing today, I used the Sunshine On My Mind cut file designed by Nicole Nowosad. This cut file is from 2019 and I think it is perfect to document any summer memory!

I cut the file from white American Crafts textured cardstock and backed it with papers from the Oh Summertime collection from Pebbles. This collection is so fun and I love the specialty papers that are included in the 6×6 paper pad. The glitter adds a fun texture to the page!

Once my cut file was backed with pretty patterned papers I added Therm O Web foam squares to the back of the cut file. I like to pop up die cuts to add dimension to the layout, and it also makes it easy to tuck embellishments around the cut.

This cut file was perfect to document a beach day with my daughter. I printed the photo out in black and white and added a pink polka dot photo mat behind it. I used my We R Memory Keepers typewriter to type out some journaling and I cut it out into small strips.

Fill up your digital library and download some of SCT’s free cut files today! Not only do they make putting a page together so fun, but they can also create that “spark” of inspiration to get a project going. Remember to share your work with us by tagging us @sctmagazine and using the hashtag #createwithsct. We would love to see your work!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
