Hello SCT friends! I’m Jessica McAfee and I’ve got a confession: I’m addicted to pretty paper! I’ve also got the answer to NOT hoarding all the pretty things and creating them into beautiful cards. The big secret? The SCT Sampler! Each month this sample-sized assortment has me crafting right out of the package. Today, I’m so excited to be here sharing five cards created with the March 2021 Shine Sampler.

Supplies | March SCT Sampler; Cardstock: Gina K Whisper Cardstock; Ink: Versamark, Memento (Tuxedo Black), Catherine Pooler (Pucker Up, Ink in the Park); Embossing Powder: Wow Hologram; Markers: Spectrum Noir TriBlend Markers; Dies: Heffy Doodle (Stitched Rectangles, Circle Frame, Dome Die); Foam adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L; Other: Sequins, Diamond Stickles

When my SCT Sampler arrives, the first thing I like to do is lay out the collections on my desk to get a feel for the ephemera, stickers, and sequins. As a cardmaker, this is a whole new world of awesomeness! By simply mixing and matching paper and embellishments, three cards came together in no time at all!

To create my first card: I die-cut an A2-sized stitched rectangle using the Creative Memories Party Time! Paper Collection. To set the scene, I added a cupcake sticker, a sentiment die-cut, and coordinating sequins.

The Echo Park Little Dreamer Girl Collection is super sweet, and it was a breeze pairing up the unicorn and rainbow images from the 4” x 4” journaling cards and sentiment cut-outs. I usually save the SCT exclusive acrylic word, however, “Shine” paired well with the theme, so I chose to make it the focal point.

I fell in love with the Concord & 9th Painted Tulip stamp set! It’s so fun that you can colour the images with markers or use the included solid stamps for instant results. I decided to try both ways and started by stamping the main image eight times using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and cut them out. I then inked up the solid stamps with Catherine Pooler’s Pucker Up and In the Park. Next, it was time to colour the remaining images with Spectrum Noir TriBlend Markers. To finish off the cards, I added 3D foam adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L for dimension, coordinating sequins, and stamped sentiments from the set.

Thank you so very much for dropping by! I had a blast creating cards with this month’s SCT Sampler and can’t wait to see what’s in store for subscribers next month!
