When I finished last month’s challenge I took a step back and looked all the previous challenges and I noticed a trend I had never used the color pink. So I decided we needed to embrace pink for this month’s challenge. And honestly at first I really wanted to do a pink monotone challenge but old habits die hard and I couldn’t let go of a neutral base and a little something extra.
This isn’t an obvious holiday themed color suite but that doesn’t mean you couldn’t use this suite as a jumping off point for your next holiday layout.
If you are feeling a little off balance by all this pink don’t forget many manufactures have embraced some of these same colors in their holiday collections. Check out Pink Paislee http://www.pinkpaislee.com/home.php?cat=85, My Minds Eye http://www.mymindseye.com/12Days/12Days.asp and Echo Park http://www.echoparkpaper.com/collections/holly-jolly/. If you are short on pink holiday papers just follow my lead and pull papers with colors inspired from our suite.
I fully admit to blurring the lines with my own challenge this month by taking liberties with the browns and blues but that’s one of the best parts of the color suite it’s a wonderful road map. You can follow the road map or you can take a detour off the beaten path to check out the local sights.
