The Colour Suite

Welcome to the January Colour Suite!  Let’s get the new year started off with a little colour. I confess I love just about all shades of blue and I often treat it as a neutral when I scrap. Colour themes tell us that blue is masculine but this one theory I simply don’t subscribe to. Needless to say I started off this colour suite with a light teal blue. I added some of my favorite brights like yellow, pink and sage green. Then I topped this suite off with a dark charcoal grey. I always love to add neutrals to ground my layout.

This month is all about throwing the rules of the Colour Suite out the window. The colour suite is a guide to inspire your creativity but what happens when you want to stray from the path? When I began my layout I couldn’t help but stray from my original path. I loved all the colours I chose but I felt the layout needed more neutrals so rather than focusing on a just a charcoal grey I added black, beige and white. By changing up the neutrals I really didn’t change the overall feeling of the colour suite. So I began my layout by building a base for my photos out of light teal blue, black, white and beige patterned papers. Essentially this layout base is made up of neutrals and the colour was added to my layout with embellishments, stickers and a title.
