Hello friends! It’s Mindy Eggen with you today to share my top three things I’m loving right now for the first Things We Love Thursday post of 2022 here on the SCT blog!

Recently, I did a little purge of my stamp sets, mainly to clear out Christmas stamps and make room for the next season. I am very limited in space, so I like to take out seasons that I’m not using or won’t be using for a while.

During this cleaning, I fell upon the Fluttering Fall Layering Stencil Bundle from Gina K. Designs. It may have “fall” in the name, but it can be used any time of the year just by changing up colors. This is the first of the things I’m loving right now that I want to introduce to you!

I used Gina K. Designs inks in Sea GlassTranquil Teal, and  Wild Lilac to blend on the butterflies to white cardstock using mini blending brushes. I also used Applemint and Lucky Clover to two-tone the leaves.

The next thing I’m loving right now is my white gel pen. It is a great, inexpensive little tool to have to add highlights to your images. It makes them look almost shiny or reflecting light. You can see I added it to my leaves and butterflies.

The third item I’m loving right now is my glimmer hot foil machine. I love creating subtle backgrounds and really puts an elegant touch to my cards. I know the glimmer machine and plates are an investment, but I use it so much it’s well worth it for me.

My card features the Pinkfresh Studio Diagonal Stripes Hot Foil Plate foiled in Opal glimmer hot foil.

You can also use the hot foil plates to emboss the design into your background so you can get two-for-one from it!

After I have my images layered in a design I like in the bottom corner of the card front, I simply added a die cut sentiment. This comes from the Pinkfresh Studio Scripted Greetings set. It’s a great everyday occasion set.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration and if you haven’t tried out the top three things I’m loving lately, maybe you’ll give them a closer look! If you already have them in your stash, I hope this has inspired you to play! Watch me create this card in this process video featured on the SCT YouTube feed today:

Thanks for joining me today and have a wonderful day!
