Hi everyone and welcome back! I’m so excited to be continuing with Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine for 2021! Today I have a little crafting tip to share with you. It’s something I do almost every single time I heat emboss.

Let’s start with the WHY.

When I first started card making, specifically heat embossing on dark cardstock, I struggled with cleaning up my anti-static powder. I like to use the EK Success Powder Tool. This helps control any static and allows the embossing powder to stick to my embossing ink and not the entire piece of cardstock.

After heat embossing, my cardstock is lightened by the anti-static powder. If I’m using black cardstock, I want it to be the nice, crisp black that I started with. Ready for the answer?

TUESDAY TEAM TIP: Swiffer Cloths!

Swiffer Cloths was the answer! I already had these in my kitchen so now I just tucked a box in my craft drawer. I just rub the cloth over my heat embossed image/sentiment and it takes away all of the anti-static powder, leaving me with a nice, crisp color of card stock. This sentiment comes from A Little Love Mini stamp set from Gina K Designs in which I’ll be trimming down to add to a card front.

Swiffer cloths are multifunctional in that they are great for cleaning up spilled powder or glitter from your surface. I’ve probably used them more for crafting purposes than actual housekeeping if I’m truly honest.

Also, one Swiffer cloth goes a long way. I keep it tucked in with my embossing supplies at all times. The only time I really change it out is if I make a big glittery mess.

Here is the sentiment added to a card created using the Ruffled Flowers Layering Stencil. This stencil is a part of A Little Love Layering Stencil Bundle.

I hope this tip helps you with your card making. It sure has helped me! Thank you so much for joining today!
