Hello SCT friends, it’s Virginia here on the blog today to share a fun card I made using products from Doodlebug Design!
The Dragon Tales collection is themed with dragons and vikings and with every collection there is always a sprinkling of birthday or other celebratory elements that you can use to make layouts or cards!
I typically create A2 sized cards, this time I decided to go with a vertical format that fits into the #10 business envelope. Isn’t it funny with using email and not sending or receiving letters as often that this business size has sort of been forgotten?
Having created this card size, I’m loving the expanded ‘scrap space’ both vertical and horizontal. I’m definitely going to stock up on some #10 envelopes so that I have this size of cards ready to go!
Another ‘scrapping habit’ I have is that I don’t like to waste so I try to use up all the bits and pieces as much as I can. For example, take a look at the fun borders on the sticker sheet, if you look closely there is a negative strip between the borders that can be used. You can always use a border, whether it be the positive or negative piece- it will work!
Here is a page I made using the Dragon Tails collection that was posted on the Doodlebug blog a while back! You should check out their fun blog!
Have a wonderful crafty day! ~ Virginia
Thank you for the tip!
Great idea to format the card for a #10 envelope. Never thought of that! And yes, having taken many of Virginia’s classes, I know first hand that she doesn’t like to waste any product, which I think is great. The cards look awesome!
ThanKs for the tip. I do not like waste either and the scalloped edge on the card is pretty.
What a great tip – never thought of it!
Cute card and great layout. Thanks for the tip for boarders. :)
Very cute card. Love the scrapbook page too.
Such creative and fun project.
What a cute page, and LOVE the idea of using the negative of the sticker! Thanks for sharing your smart-ness with us :)
These are adorable Virginia!
