World Cardmaking Day – 5:00 pm with Kimber McGray!

World Cardmaking Day – 5:00 pm with Kimber McGray!

I love CardMaps because they are such a great start for a
quick & easy card that ends with a beautiful result. I started with a
sketch from the CardMaps website from June 2013.

I grabbed my collection pack
of Cold Avocado Soup from Jillibean Soup and a bit of ribbon and gems. In
minutes, I had this simply sweet card that was ready to go.

Image1-reg card

After I was done, I wanted to see what this card would look
like if I would change the card base to a tri-fold card. It worked PERFECTLY!

Image2-tri fold card

I started both cards with a piece of Bazzill Card Shoppe
cardstock that I cut in half to measure 4.25" x 11". The basic fold
card was simply folded in half to create a standard card base that measures
4.25" x 5.5".

Image3-reg card base

For the tri-fold card, lay the cardstock base horizontally
and score at 2.75" and 8.25".

Fold both of the smaller
panels in, towards the center to create a tri-fold card base.

Image5-tri fold base

I used the exact same pieces to create the tri-fold card as
I did for the basic card. On the right fold, adhere the grey pattern paper
strip and gems, as shown.

Image6-tri fold w paper1

On the left fold, layer the different elements just as you
would have on the basic card.

Image7-finished tri fold

By making such a small change, you can create a much more
dramatic card. Give it a try the next time you sit down to create some a
card!  If you make one this week, be sure to link us up in the comment section below.  We would love to see it πŸ™‚

Lovely card. I think I need to get a score board to do a gate-fold card.

What lovely cards! I definitely LOVE the tri-fold card a little more and I appreciate Kimber giving us the cutting and scoring instructions. The papers and ribbon goes so beautifully together, too. I had no idea that Jilllibean Soup offered a a Monthly Card Kits. How cool is that! Those I must go check out.

Can I borrow the Home Run Cut File and lend it my beloved, and beleaguered, Red Sox right now? The Detroit pitchers have been skilled and relentless! Yikes! At least I have SCT to beautifully distract me during the inning set ups.
