(pssst…you will want to read all the way to the end SCT friends 😉
it comes to creating fun, interesting cards, I love to layer! Cards are
the ideal format for incorporating lots of different textures and patterns
in the form of stamps, papers, punches, embellishments, and more. I like
to use foam adhesives (my favorite is This to That foam tabs by American
Crafts) because they add dimension but allow the card to be
flattened to easily fit into an envelope.
this card I started with the sketch above for inspriation, and began with a layer of watermark stamping on my kraft card
stock. Then I layered several of the BasicGrey Persimmon papers
(adding a bit of machine stitching to the edges of each one). A punched scallop
circle serves a base for a simple die cut + brad, and a bit of hemp twine
adds texture. Finally, a die cut sentiment finishes it all off!
cardstock (Bazzill Basics); patterned paper, die cur sunburst, brad
(BasicGrey); stamp (Jenni Bowlin Studio); ink ( Tsukineko); twine (Jillibean Soup);
punches (EK Success); die cut machine (Silhouette Cameo)

On to this hour's great sponsor. One word…DOODLEBUG! They have been a partner to SCT since the beginning and if you have read this blog for a long time, or know me, then you know that when Doodlebug lands in the office, I don't share. Ever. It is why this prize will come directly from their offices because if it came here, it would never leave…lol!
Doodlebug would love to send the Happy Harvest line to one lucky reader so be
sure to leave a comment below for an opportunity to win! We will randomly select one winner on Sunday,
October 13th and all World Cardmaking Day prize winners will be announced on
the SCT blog on Monday, October 14th.
Good luck! Now click on over to the Doodlebug facebook page and see all the fun they are having over there! Let them know we sent you, they will love it!
We will wrap up our final hour with our editor extraordinaire Becky Fleck. See you at 9:00 pm!
