You Had Me At Hello!

You Had Me At Hello!

Hi, hola, ciao, sup, konnichiwa, bonjour, goedendag, howdy . . . no matter how you choose to say it, “hello” is a special word. A greeting. An acknowledgement. A happy exchange taking place.

Hello is also a trend. Yes, a word is actually a design trend. You’ll see this sweet sentiment popping up to say “hey” all over the place right now.

 Hello, home!

I must begin with a special home decor piece. My incredibly talented friend, Holly Jones, makes these brilliant wood pieces by hand in her home and they are something else. I have one in my daughter’s nursery, and I adore it. And, to add to the hello huzzah, her shop is called Say Hello. Seems like a perfect place to start to me!

This beauty from SS Printshop covers many of the amazing trends we’ve talked about lately, including a beautiful script font, glorious gold, hearts, and now, hello! How ‘bout them apples?

Love me some Lionel!

Wake up on the right side of the bed with these beauties.

Hello, hot stuff!

Say hello without uttering a word wearing this charm around your neck.

Or go a bit further south to make your statement with this little number.

Forever21 makes it easy to wear your hello on your sleeve with this sweet bracelet.

Hello, happy crafty!

Avery Elle

Hi, my name is…what? My name is…who? My name is… Well, you know the rest. If not, perhaps you need a “Hello, my name is” clear stamp like these cuties from Avery Elle.

Avery Elle keeps the hellos happening with this Simply Said: Hello Elle-ments die.

Cosmo Cricket

Clearly, these stickers by Cosmo Cricket are winners in the friendly-and-fun department, with “hello” being just one of the lovely statements made.

Inspiration Ave.

Inspiration Ave. is at it again, with this love-note loaded set of stamps.

These cute cut-out cards by Jillibean Soup may be called Mini Placemats, but they’re mighty on design. And the hello card is a favorite of mine.

Lawn Fawn

Hellos don’t get much happier than this. It’s the darling Hello Sunshine collection from the sweetest-ever Lawn Fawn crew.

But the Fawns didn’t stop at paper. Check out these amazing dies.

Paper Smooches

Nothing like a little paper smooch with your greeting!

Papertrey Ink

Ring… Ring… Papertrey Ink just called to say . . . hello! Answer that call using their Heart-2-Heart set.

Pinkfresh Studio

Hellos can come in many forms, one of my favorite being the text message. So you can imagine my delight when I saw the hello Fresh Press Card from Pinkfresh Studio. I’ll take a cute text like this any day.

Simon Says Stamp!

Say “hello.” Uh uh uh, Simon didn’t say. Oh, yes they did. In a big way thanks to the Hello You set.

Simple Stories

It’s simple . . . Simple Stories, that is. And their stylish assortment of stamps in the Journaling set.

Teresa Collins

Hello, My Name Is… No, really, that’s its name. This collection by Teresa Collins not only features our on-trend word, but its name incorporates it as well.

Hello, my your name is…

We’re a month into Monday with Megan. I hope you’ve had fun thus far. I know I have. But I feel I have much to learn about you. If you feel so inclined, I’d love it if you’d answer the following questions so I can learn a bit more about you and continue to improve my Mondays for you.

  1. Do you consider yourself a card maker, a scrapbooker, or both?
  2. Are you on Pinterest? Mind leaving a link to your Pinterest board?
  3. What is your favorite crafting supply?
  4. What is your favorite crafting company?
  5. If you could sit down and craft with anybody, who would it be?

That’s what you get when you combine Pinterest and hello—pinello. Play along and see some stellar hello projects on my “Hello there!” Pinterest board.

Get Ink

While you’re out making the “hello” rounds, better make a stop at the blog of remarkably talented Jennifer McGuire.  She has an inspiring tutorial for creating this colorful card.

Hello Harmony

And, I’ll leave you with a hello harmony. In preparing this post, I saw this video for the first time, and I have to admit, I find a tad creepy. I mean, stalking AND crank calling? Sheesh! But, creepiness aside, it’s a hello classic—Mr. Lionel RIchie. Is it he, YOU’RE looking for?

Cindy! Bette! How nice to e-meet you both. Thanks for the great comments. I’ve already followed both of your Pinterest boards. Love seeing your style preferences! 🙂

Wow –I missed Sat –as I was gone -but wow what a lot of neat things to catch up with today – Monday. Love the HELLO theme and the woodseies from SSPrintshop . Neat gold script and Lionel’ cup , then those pillows and neat charm . Love the name cards that are so handy for events. How about those Cosmos Cricket stickers –handy or what. Inspirations has those neat hello and friend stamps, and the mini placemats from Jellibean. Lawn Fawn with their Hello Sunshine always so cheery and bright.Love the phone die from Papertrey Ink –something about those phones seems to have hit my fancy this year.Of course Pinkfresh Studio has those attractive hello fresh press cards. Teresa Collins always comes up with the neatest things — am always waiting to see what she comes up with next. Then along comes Megan and really makes us reflect as to why and what we are doing —I guess I would have to say that I am a scrapbooker first and then a card maker , but I love any crafts –depending on the time and day. As far as Pinterest — I am just learning a little about it and pinning some of what I really like but haven’t quite mastered the ins and outs of Pinteret — still working on that. Looks like everyone had an intereting Saturday and I hope I’m not too late to enter my two cents and possibly get a chance to win.. Sure am learning a lot more computer savvy since I found all the scrapbooking stuff on it. WHAT FUN Hope everyone is having a great day — I know I am. Thanks

  12. Brenda March 3, 2014 at 7:18 pm

I’m on pinterest Ooh so hard to pick a favorite supply but I’ll narrow it down to patterned paper, stamps and washi tape (although enamel dots and bakers twine also make frequent appearances. :)) My favorite companies (yep can’t narrow it down to just one here either lol) are My Minds Eye, Simon Says Stamps, Hero Arts, Simple Stories, Echo Park and Bella Blvd. I love scrapping with my friends but if I could get a chance to scrap/stamp with Jennifer McGuire, Laura Vegas or Lisa Bearnson I would be in heaven!!

    HELLO 🙂
My name is Tracy and I am mainly a card maker, dipping my toes into Project Life scrapping, with my 1st PL page completed at the weekend. I’m on Pinterest and tend to lose hours of my life when I go to visit. My Pinterest board is found here
My favourite crafting supply is textured card stock, it is a staple that can be used as is, punched or stamped, it is a part of pretty much all of my work. Bling comes a close second, whether it is in the form of rhinestones or glitter – LOVE IT!!!
My favourite crafting company … that’s a tough one!!! Love and use lots of Ruby Rock-It/Bella/Fundamentals, Kaisercraft, Couture Creations & Helmar, because they are great Aussie companies and more accessible for me to purchase. I also love using Core’dinations cardstock, American Crafts Thickers alphas & glitter and Glitz Design. Companies that I’m REALLY keen to try include Paper Smooches, Doodlebug Design, Simon Says Stamp and Spellbinders … I have to stop now because I have such a long crafty wish list. I have lots of crafting idols but my choice would have to be my Mum & Dad!!! We haven’t been able to visit with them for a couple of years now (our phone works hard keeping in touch each day) and they are so supportive of my crafting that they got up at 3am to join me in an online crop class, even wearing their crown & tiara with me!!!
THANK YOU for your post today Megan!!! It has been FUN & INTERESTING 🙂
