pocket page tips
As simple as it sounds, if an element does not fit your
pocket, try turning it on its side and layer it against another
print or photo.
I loved the typewriter chipboard shape somuch that I
placed it right in the center of a journaling card for high vis-
ibility, then accented the cardwith doodles and spray ink.
Save your receipts, ticket stubs and othermemorabilia. My
banker's envelope, which I decoratedwith stickers and spray
ink, actually contains a receipt for our garage door repair.
I die cut a large ampersand fromwhite cardstock, then heat
embossed itwith gold embossing powder. After it cooled,
I addedmachine stitching and layered it onto a patterned
die cut card rather than stitching directlyon the card, which
would showon the back side of the pocket.
I love to use labels, tabs and paper clips that extend outside
of a pocket. Just one heart clip added direction to the
pocket and added texture and interest.

I really enjoyed embellishing the 2"x12" strip
!
I used theword
bubble, banners, labels and die cuts to note several high-
lights fromour vacation and these bits tied all of the page
elements together.
I added several embellishments to the outside pockets of
this page, including a flair badge, chipboard sunglasses and
wood veneer. As long as you use a strong adhesive, you
should have no problemwith the pieces staying in place.
Adhering them to the outside of the pocketswill keep your
pages from buckling in your album.
I always brush on a dry coat of acrylic paint around the
edges of all ofmy photos. Not only does it add texture,
but it helps differentiatemy photos frommy die cuts and
journaling cards.
