Hello! Sheri here today! What I love most about scrapbooking, is that there are no rules. When I decided that I wanted to create a page featuring this sweet, snow day photo of my daughter, my first instinct was to look through my paper stash in search for that perfect winter themed paper. Believe it or not, no where in that huge assortment, was a single sheet in the appropriate color.
My next step was to look for a few coordinating sheets that simply matched my photo. I came up with a combination that I loved! I didn’t allow the floral motifs, within the fun circle pattern, stop me from incorporating this gorgeous patterned paper into my winter themed design. In fact, the circles became the perfect place to incorporate an assortment of die cut snowflakes.
Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: Pink Paislee, Crate Paper, American Crafts; Chipboard Accents, Sticker, Decorative Clip, Rub Ons, Decorative Button: Crate Paper; Dies: Paper Smooches, Sizzix; Enamel Dots: My Mind’s Eye, Simple Stories; Other: Cork Sheet)
A large die cut title frames my single photo, and a few simple embellishments, along with some journaling completes the design! Thank you so much for joining me today! As always, Happy Scrapping!

Lovely layout! What cut file did you use for the snowflake?
Love the page!! Loved that you used non traditional papers!
True that we do not have the right winter papers, why? Because they are usually in blue tones!
Same as in Valentines, they are always red and pink and that does not always work with our pictures either!
I recently did a Halloween page in pink and yellow, why? Because the traditional papers are in oranges and black. The pictures I wanted to scrap were in pinks!
love this! I’m a big fan of using non traditional papers – I use what I have and what I love
Such a great layout!
This layout is so gorgeous. I love how she combines multiple papers and patterns in unique ways.
Liked the title arrangement you used.
I really like the cork die cut snow flake. I don’t think to use cork with stuff that would normally be white , what a great idea
Loving all the colours! So pretty!
I didn’t even really notice it wasn’t ‘winter’ paper – the snowflakes make all the difference!
Gorgeous colour scheme! I totally love that cork snowflake! Beautiful page.
Always love your creations Sheri! I am one for using non- traditional colors too!! Funnily, one would think I would have more winter papers etc since we experience it here in Canada for at least 5 mos but not the case I have way more spring&summer- like colors!!
Awesome page, Shari! Great job with the colors, and I love how you thought “outside the box” with your patterned paper. :) ~ Andrea
