Well hello there everyone!  Stacy Cohen here.  Besides all of SCT’s fabulous resources, where else do you find inspiration to get your creative juices flowing? I sometimes find fresh inspiration from non-scrapbooking pins on Pinterest – food, home décor, etc.  Sometimes a simple arrangement of frames on a wall will give me an idea for laying out photos on a page.  Or sometimes a beautifully photographed cake will give me an idea for colors and embellishments.  While browsing through Pinterest the other day, I found this picture of a too-gorgeous-to-eat ombre cake.

I knew immediately that I wanted to create a scrapbook page based on the cascading ombre in this photo.  I first thought about mimicking the ruffles, but I decided to go with butterflies instead (I’m a little obsessed with clusters of butterlifies!).  Here is the resulting page.

Adore sized

I first used a variety of complimentary colors of distress inks on watercolor paper, then I proceeded to punch out a ton of butterflies.  It definitely took a long time to punch out all the butterflies and glue each one individually to the paper, but I was satisfied with the result in the end.

Take a look through Pinterest and see what non-crafty pins you might be able to translate into a scrapbook page!

Before I go, I wanted to remind everyone that the fabulous new SCT Delivered Fall Kits are now available for preorder here.  I had an absolute ball working with the Sweater Weather layout kit.  It is chock full of so many wonderful goodies!  Here are a few sneaks of the layouts and card I created with this kit:
