Happy April, my magazine friends! With our Spring 2016 issue officially out (available for free download here), I’m here to give you the guided tour. I always love walking you through the pages of each issue, but this one will be extra fun, as it has a few new additions to introduce.

What’s New

Let’s get right to the new! For starters, we’ve introduced two new columns. There’s Pocket Play, which is all about… you guessed it!  Pocket scrapbooking. This issue, talented Jess Forster joined us as our guest columnist. This is one of two projects she created. I just love the division of the larger photo into several pockets! What are some of your favorite pocket tricks when you create using divided page protectors?

1The spring issue also launched Make it Mini, a column all about making mini albums. Creative Nancy Damiano came on as our first Make it Mini guest columnist. She created this tag album by hand, but we’ve also put together a tag template for you to use, if you’d prefer, which can be downloaded HERE.

Cathy Zielske will now be targeting her column to design specifics each issue. With that, she’s changed the name of her popular column to Design Your Life. Here’s a look at one of her pages, which is about repetition. I said, it’s about repetition. ;) (lame joke!)

The title of Ali Edwards’ column, Spark Your Story, remains the same, but she is going to present her visuals in a slightly different way this year, by bringing you both traditional and pocket pages. She’ll also include more of her fabulous downloads, which we love. Here’s a look at this issue’s offering, which you can download for free HERE

New columns aren’t the only thing you’ll find. You’ll also find a new columnist. Melissa Phillips has signed on as our official writer of Card Cafe. She’s been making beautiful cards for years and is sure to bring a great look to this classic column. Here’s a peek at one of the cards she did for her debut issue.

I won’t spoil all of the surprises. There are more new columns to enjoy and team members to meet, but this gives you a taste of what we have to offer.

We’ve also kept much of what you know and love about Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine the same, including bringing you feature articles on popular topics with each issue, as well as many of the same columns you’ve come to expect with the magazine (Sketch Savvy, 10 Most Wanted, Creative Card Techniques, etc.). I’ll give you a look at some of these staples in my next “Magazine Monday with Megan” post (first Monday in May). In the meantime, you’ll definitely want to set your eyes on our MANY freebies being offered with the Spring 2016 issue. Here’s a complete list of what you’ll find HERE
