Hello, friends, and happy May to you! We hope you had a wonderful International Scrapbook Day this weekend!

We’re still basking in the release of our Spring/Summer 2024 edition of Scrapbook & Cards Today. It is such an inspiring issue filled with so much papercrafted happiness!

I’m coming to you today with a card that I created inspired by our new column called Common Thread as well as a nod to one of my favorite layouts in the issue by Allison Davis.

This new column will feature one card, one pocket page, and one scrapbook layout all connected by one thread—in this case the common thread is a colour combination. Now, I love a good colour combination, so this was super fun to create!

Supplies Cardstock: Bazzill Basics, Concord & 9th, Lawn Fawn; Stamp, enamel dots, ink: Concord &9th; Dies: Concord & 9th, My Favorite Things; Sticker: Doodlebug Design; Adhesives: Gina K. Designs, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Therm O Web;

This colour combination is juicy and fun, and when I spied my flamingo Doodle-Pop (I have two of them!), my idea was hatched. I scoured through my cardstock scraps to colour match and used leaf dies from My Favorite Things against the cover plate die from Concord & 9th. The deep pink dotted cardstock from Lawn Fawn added some interest to the background.

I was heavily inspired by Dilay Nacar’s card in the column with her deeply saturated pink background and grey die cut leaves.

And the flamingo pays homage to this amazing layout by Allison Davis. I just love it so much!

Here’s to a wonderful May filled with creativity and delight!
