Happy first Monday of November!

I recently finished writing the winter issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine, and I’ve been feasting my eyes on glorious holiday and snowy creations with a side of Valentine’s Day. It certainly put me in a festive mood and inspired these creations!

You might remember that last month I took a road trip to the Simple Stories warehouse sale. I thought I’d share with you some fun Christmas gift tags I made with some of my purchases that day. Here’s a little sneak peek—the winter issue, our Product Play column features great ideas for making holiday gift tags. That got me thinking… What if I could share super-duper quick and easy gift tags that you can make as you wrap this December?

The Simple Stories Mix & A-Mingle collection has such a cute color story, and I love the vintage and cute icons and patterns, so I dove in and got started.

For these two cuties, I took two large ephemera from the collection and punched a hole near the for a ribbon. Once I threaded through the ribbon, I added just a titch of bakers’ twine to cinch the ribbon in place. Other than that, I added jewels on the tree and Santa’s pant cuffs, and a bit of glossy accents on the headlights and Santa’s nose. That’s IT. Custom tags in a jiffy.

For the second set of tags, I used a Hero Arts tag die and two patterned papers from the collection.  To decorate the tags, I used stickers and chipboard from the collection as well as a fussy cut element, and a few gems. Finally, I attached the ribbon just like the ephemera tags.

I’m all ready for a few gifts this Christmas, and I hope I’ve inspired you to do the same!

Here’s to a month of creativity!
