Hello SCT friends, Virginia here on the blog today to share with you a scrapbook page I created without using any pattern paper.
I was at a crop and one of the challenges was to create a page without using pattern paper, hmm…hard to resist pattern paper but I was up to doing this! I do think that some photos are better suited to a solid backdrop and so taking hints from the colours in my photos I created a cardstock only foundation.
To dress up the page I dipped into my stash of ephemera and alphabet fonts. I didn’t worry about using the embellishments from the same company as the colours (not patterns or theme) worked together.
Tip: The subtitle at the bottom of the page is a mix of alphabets so I created a pink banner as an underline to pull it together.
Why not challenge yourself to create a no patterned paper layout! Give it a try!

I love this! It’s no surprise that Virginia could pull off a challenge such as this without breaking a sweat. She’s an amazing designer. The colours all work fabulously together and that black title just POPS like crazy. She’s such an inspiration!
Cardstock is rocking in this layout! I am so glad you featured this layout, there is a simple beauty to it with the colorful accents! Fantastic page!
Sweet! I love this idea! Sometimes we just need to let the picture call the shots and you did an awesome job on this challenge! TFS!
I absolutely love this layout and the idea of this challenge overall. My goal this year is to use what I have which is a challenge in itself!
