Hey friends! This is Mindy Eggen and today I’m here to share some inspiration using my OLO Markers in combination with some super cute images from Lawn Fawn.

OLO just recently released a collection of 32 brand new colors and I’m in love with them—especially the new greens! When I need to color something green, I like to have a nice bright, lime green for a highlight and OLO made my wish come true! This led me to choose the new Critters In The Desert stamp set from Lawn Fawn so I could color the cactus.

All of my images are stamped on X-Press It cardstock, which is super smooth. The ink doesn’t soak into the paper right away which allows me time to blend my colors. I also stamped with an alcohol-friendly black ink, Jet Black from Lawn Fawn.

The OLO Marker colors I used are:
YG1.6, YG1.4, YG1.2
– R0.3, R.02
O4.6, O4.3, O4.1
– BG7.6, BG7.3
– OR7.4, OR7.2
– YO2.7, YO2.5, YO2.3
– OR4.7, OR4.4, OR4.2

When I am working on one image, I leave the caps off of those colors until I’m done with the image. Your markers will NOT dry out and it is easy to switch between the different shades.

After coloring in the images, I cut them out with the coordinating die and set them aside to work on my background.

Instead of creating a full card front scene, I made it a little smaller. This is less intimidating and won’t require a lot of coloring to fill up the scene.

I used the Desert Canyon Backdrop to set the scene and after ink blending and attaching it to my blended sky, I die cut it out with the Stitched Rectangles die. This panel measures 2-3/4″ x 4″ and fits nicely inside the frame I created with the Scalloped Rectangles.

For my card front, I created patterned paper by stamping the cactus multiple times onto Paper Bag cardstock with Doe ink. This provided a little added interest to the background without distracting from the main focus of the image.

I find the OLO Markers blend so beautifully and I’m so happy with the new release of colors. They filled in gaps nicely throughout the line. Another beautiful addition of colors is in the Blue-Violet section which I think will look amazing with florals!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Sending hugs!
