Happy Wednesday! We’re so close to finalizing our 2024 team grid, and today we’re going to reveal our second to last square: let’s say hello to Virginia Nebel!

Virginia has been a long-time team member here at SCT, teaching beautiful projects at many Crop & Create events, and we think you will love seeing what she has to share with you in 2024! Let’s get to know Virginia a bit better today!

I’ve been paper crafting for over 20 years and even though I have seen trends come and go my passion for memory keeping still keeps my heart joyful.
My hubby and I reside in Ontario, Canada. We are almost empty-nesters, life with two pups and an apiary keeps us quite busy!

What is your favorite design tip, Virginia?

I love to seek inspiration from other paper crafters or use a sketch for a little jumpstart to my creativity. The inspiration can be as simple as ‘Oh I like that’ and usually my creative journey just builds from there—one patterned paper and one embellishment at a time! Another tip is to take a photo of your page and look at your project through the camera lens, this helps your eye to zone in on a design aspect that you can tweak.

What is your favorite type of project to create and why?

My favorite projects are 8.5 x 11-inch layouts. I prefer memory keeping in this size because the albums take up less room than the traditional 12×12 albums.

What is your favorite technique?

My go-to technique is to develop layers and whimsy with ephemera on my layouts. You can never have too many die-cuts, stickers, and chipboard! I get very giddy over a package of cute ephemera die-cuts!

If you had one piece of advice for a new paper crafter, what would it be?

My advice to a new paper crafter is to give yourself some grace. Don’t worry if you do not have all the tools and techniques out of the starting gate.
Create with products that make you happy. You will get into your groove and find a style that works for you, just have fun!

What are you most excited about in your craft for 2024?
I am most excited to start scrapbooking some travelling I did last year. I love creating travel albums and reliving vacation memories!

Let’s see what three favourite layouts Virginia is sharing with us today:
