Today we are excited to welcome another returning team member back in 2024! Say hello again to the lovely Jana Eubank! Jana’s talent is well-known—from her layouts to her beautiful mini albums, every project she creates is beautifully designed! Jana is also a wonderful Crop & Create event instructor, and we always enjoy her classes and calm teaching style. Let’s get to know Jana a bit more today!

Hello, crafty friends! I’m Jana Eubank. Paper has been a part of my life ever since I was young. My parents own a printing business and I’ve been playing with colored paper, pens, and stickers for as long as I can remember. I love sharing my creative heart and inspiring others to explore theirs by teaching paper crafting classes. I live in Bountiful, Utah, with my husband and 17-year-old daughter, where we enjoy the nearby mountains and all four seasons. My other three adult children live close by and visit home often. We have three fur babies (2 cats and 1 dog). They are my scrapping sidekicks and I adore them! Other favorites include chocolate chip cookies, Diet Coke (with lime!), journaling, and shopping at thrift stores.

What is your favorite type of project to create and why, Jana?

I love to create mini albums of our family vacations. I love revisiting the memories of our adventure and recording the silly things that happened along the way.

What is your favorite technique?

My favorite technique is die-cutting. I love to pull out my electronic or manual die-cutting machines and add a custom touch to my projects!

What is your favorite design tip?

Break up straight lines with something circular or organic. Photos and paper layers have lots of straight edges and can start to look stagnant. When this happens, I like to add circular elements or flowers to break up the blocks and make things more interesting!

If you had one piece of advice for a new papercrafter, what would it be?

I would advise a new papercrafter to find a few projects they admire and scrap lift them. Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine is a great resource! As you practice emulating your favorite designers you will learn to get past the blank page syndrome and not stress so much about cutting into that first piece of paper. Pretty soon you’ll be brave enough to venture out on your own as you cultivate your style!

What are you most excited about your craft for 2024?

We are slowly becoming empty nesters. I recently took over my daughter’s bedroom when she moved out to create a small filming studio. It’s been so fun to have a dedicated space for making videos. This year I plan on fine-tuning my equipment and set-up. I’m really looking forward to that!

Let’s take a look at three of Jana’s favourite recent projects:
