We are so excited to welcome our final new Creative Team member to the blog today! Please give a warm welcome to the talented Tina Smith!

Tina’s gorgeous layered, textural card creations have always caught our eye, and we knew that she would be the perfect addition to our team! Let’s get to know Tina a bit better today!

From the time I could get a hold of glue, colored paper, and scissors I fell in love! I am a child of God, a wife, and a mother of three children. I love all things paper and baking, too. The husband and I owned a bakery and cafe for 15 years, closing it in 2022. Since then, cardmaking has been my full-time job. In 2018, I started my cardmaking journey online with my blog and YouTube channel, Cards & Coffee Time. I love teaching how to create handmade cards, scrapbook pages, handmade gifts—just about anything you can make with paper! To create something beautiful and handcrafted that can be enjoyed and given as a gift makes me smile. I have to say, the crafting community is the best! I am having a blast and I am excited to start my new journey with SCT Magazine!

What is your favourite design tip, Tina?

Pop it up and add some texture! I love dimension and texture on cards. Stack your elements using foam tape to make them stand out on your cards. Make a mini-masterpiece and use twine, texture paste, and embossing folders to give your card all the ‘feels.’

What is your favourite technique?

Lots of layers and framing.

What is your favourite color combination?

Teal, yellow, and coral.

If you have a free hour in a day, how would you spend it?

Bake a batch of cupcakes and clean the craft room while they are in the oven! I tend to make a huge mess designing a layout for a card. I must pull out every die set, stamp, ink, cardstock, and embellishment you can imagine when creating. DCCR—Design, Create, Clean, Repeat!

What are you most excited about in your craft for 2024?

Cardmaking is always evolving with new techniques, amazing new stamps and dies, and new crafty gadgets that make our cardmaking more fun and efficient. I can’t wait to teach and share some of those with the cardmaking community in 2024! It’s going to be a fabulous year!

Let’s take a look at three of Tina’s recent, beautiful card designs:
