Happy Monday, friends! June has arrived, and we have Dads on our minds! Our fathers and father-figures are so important to us, and they deserve to be celebrated and documented! That’s what this week on the blog is all about! Each day, an SCT team member will be sharing inspiration for and about Dad, and we will wrap up the week with a New & Noteworthy post perfect for Father’s Day. There is still time to craft for Father’s Day—it is on June 16th this year, so get inspired to craft for a special man in your life! Let’s kick off the week with our esteemed Editor-in-Chief, Susan R. Opel!

June is the perfect time of year to celebrate our dads! My dad is a big part of my life these days—he lives about 4 miles away, and I have the distinct honor of taking him to church each Sunday as well as to the library, the grocery store, and the doctor.

Clearly, my dad is very important to me, so a handmade card is in order. He has a stack of cards that my sister and I have made for him.

Supplies Cardstock, ink: Concord & 9th; Stamp: Hero Arts; Dies: Concord & 9th Festive Corner Cuts Dies, My Favorite Things; Gems: Rainbow Splash, Simon Says Stamp; Corner rounder: EK Success; Adhesive: Gina K. Designs, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Therm O Web

Can we talk about the beautiful colors of cardstock and ink that Concord & 9th offers? When I want the perfect color for my creations, I’m always drawn to their gorgeous palette. This card pairs Peacock and Oceanside in cardstock and ink colors. I just love how they play so well together!

The die cut background was created with the latticework die from the Festive Corner Cuts die. As the name suggests, this die set was created with Christmas in mind, but it works perfectly for occasions all year long. Those openings worked well for me to tuck in some die-cut leaves to flank the sentiment.

The stamped message stands out nicely in white, and I used a corner rounder on opposing corners for a little extra zhuzh. My dad is very understanding of my love of bling, so a bit of sparkly bedazzlement finished off the design.

Here’s to my dad and all the father figures who mean so much to all of us! Hope you have a spectacular month ahead of you!
