Hello, friends, and happy Friday! This is Brenda, and I am so excited to be sharing my project with you on the SCT Magazine blog! I have a pair of sympathy cards to share with you today featuring the Dragonfly stamp set and coordinating dies from the new Modern Spring release on alcohol ink backgrounds!

I started by working on my backgrounds with my alcohol inks and a panel of Yupo paper. I cut the panel in half and used Limeade, Turquoise and Sailboat Blue alcohol inks with blending solution and an air blower. I set them aside to dry, but before they were completely dry, I added some gold foil to the “stickier” parts of the alcohol ink.

I trimmed gold satin cardstock from the Gold Hearted Paper Pad slightly larger than the alcohol ink panels and adhered them to the back of the Yupo panel. The Quilted A2 Cover Plate Honey Cut was used to cut panels of Bristol paper to add behind those. They were then added to A2 white top-folding card bases.

I stamped each of the dragonflies from the Dragonfly Stamp Set onto Bristol cardstock and vellum with Bee Creative Clear embossing ink. I embossed them all with gold embossing powder, then cut them out with the coordinating dies. I colored the Bristol layer with Karin Brush Pro Markers in colors to match the backgrounds. Once dry, I adhered the Bristol die-cuts to the Yupo paper and the vellum layer on top with Bee Creative Glue, adhering them only along the body to allow the wings to “pop up”.

The sentiments, from the Get Well Soon stamp set, were stamped with Bee Creative Embossing Ink, then embossed with gold embossing powder. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite stamp sets. It has so many great sentiments in it! I die cut the sentiments with the coordinating Honey Cuts and popped them up with foam adhesive.

I’m really happy with how these turned out! Thanks so much for dropping by today, and have a great weekend!
