Hi, friends! It’s Jess, and I am so excited to be here with my first project on the SCT blog as a creative team member! Today I am going to share a simple trick to create a simple and stylish pocket title page for documenting everyday life in 2021. This technique can be universally applied to all divided page protectors, regardless of the size!
Supplies: Elle’s Studio: January 2021 Monthly Kit, XOXO paper stack, acetate hearts, puffy heart stickers, True Love stickers; Becky Higgins Project Life Design F page protectors; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L; Font: Remington Noiseless
Recording memories in pockets has been my go-to scrapbooking method of choice for the past decade. Each year, I create a title page for my album by taking “headshots” of my family members in January or February. It’s easy! All you need is some natural light, a neutral wall in your home, and your family members to dress in a neutral coordinating colour!
In this Design F Project Life page protector that I trimmed to 9” x 12”, I have included photos of my family members wearing something black while standing against a white wall in my bedroom. No white wall? No problem! A navy or grey wall could also do the trick—the key is to make sure there are no distracting elements in the background.
By taking similar-sized photos of your family members in neutral colours, like black and white, you can focus on making your pocket page pop with colourful products. Here I paired my 3” x 4:” family headshots with teal journaling tags from the Elle’s Studio January monthly kit, as well as acetate hearts, puffy stickers, and wood veneer from my stash. I just love a good monochromatic colour scheme!
Title pages don’t have to be complicated. You can take your own “headshots” in less than 10 minutes by following these simple steps. I hope this inspires you to create your own title pocket page for 2021! Thanks for looking!
I love the way you have your family trained for this. lol I remember arguing with my teenage son (at the time) to put on a nice shirt for a family event. Both of us were so stubborn! We finally compromised on a nice shirt over his beat up tee, and this is his style to this day at 30 years old. haha
Love this colour combo.
Great ideas.Looks fantastic.TFS❤
I never completed pocket pages until I took your class at the last SCT Crop & Create event. It was so much easier than I thought & you made it a fabulous project. I have to confess, I haven’t done any since, but have plans to finish the backs of the pages we did in class. I love your style & thanks for the great tips.
What an awesome idea! I’ve been struggling with ideas to start my 2021 PL album, I love the idea of a bio page ????
Love Jess and her pocket pages ???? I wonder if the journaling on her journaling cards was done with a typewriter?
What a neat idea. My kids are all grown, now, but I can still do that with them when Covid has subsided. I would love to be able to look back on an album like that.
This is a great idea. I love it
