Good morning! Do you listen to podcasts? Designer Amy Tan of the Amy Tangerine brand hosts a beautiful podcast called “Craft a Life You Love.”
“Craft A Life You Love is Amy Tangerine’s podcast dedicated to empowering you to create space and intention for your own personal hobbies, happiness, and harmony. Some weeks it will just be Amy sharing her perspective, ideas, and inspiration to living your best creative life.”
Amy has talked with some amazing industry guests like Ali Edwards, Kristina Werner, Stephanie Smokovich of Bella Blvd, Paige Evans and also some amazing non-industry guests like Joy Cho, Jessica Turner, Kara Elise and many more! Recently Amy spoke with our founder and publisher, Catherine to talk about how the magazine got started, walking through fear, hosting events and the importance of community.
Want to listen? Join Amy and Catherine HERE as they share their passion for people, papercrafting and dreaming big!
Did you also know Amy also wrote a wonderful book Craft a Life You Love: Infusing Creativity, Fun & Intention into Your Everyday?
“In Craft a Life You Love, readers will learn how to focus their creative energy and make things (and make things happen) by implementing small—yet powerful— changes in their everyday lives. In this memoir and hardworking handbook, creativity and craft maven Amy Tangerine, shows readers how to find their flow, maintain a positive mindset, and cultivate a rich and fulfilling life by focusing on what truly matters. Chapters explore how to craft the soul, craft the right mindset, craft the right environment, craft good habits, rediscover your creative mojo, and maintain momentum, with each section offering exercises for taking your creative practice to the next level. For anyone who has felt disconnected from their creativity or has had trouble saving a space for their passions, Craft a Life You Love will teach you how to make time for creativity each and every day.”

Good luck!
What made me smile was listening to them tak about looking back at the projects when you were starting out…that is so me!! I keep my first ever card just to remind me how far I have come!
Would love a copy of this book, we can all use more creative time and encouragement to create more.
Loved listening to this podcast (the first one I’ve ever listened to) a few days ago. Enjoyed how the name of Scrapbook & Cards TODAY came about and how Catherine was helped by others in the industry and that it’s family oriented. Congratulations Catherine on how far you’ve come and looking forward to seeing how far you go. You and Amy are inspirational. Thank you
Fear … eat it for breakfast …. digest it for lunch and get on with your day. That made me smile. So many times fear held me back. So that phrase is also an inspiration to me. I also like that you support local stores. I just wish they didn’t all close up, in my area. I’m happy therefore that your magazine is also sold at Chapters. Catherine, you are amazing as is your magazine. ❤️
It is so powerful to hear how others dreamed big and put it into motion. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the details of your journey, Catherine. Congratulations on all that you have accomplished!
I love the easy conversation. It was fun to hear about ideas being written on napkins or having them in the middle of the night. Such a fun podcast.
Inspiring me to be better! ????
I’m definitely living a crafty life but could always use inspiration!
This was a great episode. I love Cathrine’s positive, forward-looking attitude toward pretty much all aspects of life, and I really enjoyed hearing how the magazine came to be! Thanks for the great giveaway; I would love to read Amy’s book!
I love hearing stories about how an idea turned into a thriving business. And I especially love hearing success stories about creativity and artistic passions. Thank you both for bringing your talents and teachings to the paper crafting community!
Wow! So much resonated with me. Recalled a scrapbook made for me after my baby shower using the old albums that had sticky pages and you peeled back the plastic to add your memories. Not as permanent as rubber cement, but still very damaging to photos!
Going to my first Crop and Create in Toronto, and I was a little nervous about knowing only the person I’m attending with, but feel better after hearing Catherine talk about how connections are made.
Finally, love the advice not to compare yourself to others. Reminds me of a quote by Thoreau, about marching to the music you hear,
Thanks for introducing me to Amy’s podcast.
I love to create anything, legislator or cards. Lately I have been doing a lot of cards, but that’s my nd time and relazing.
I loved the podcast. It was great hearing how the magazine started up and how they have been able to survive when so many others have not. Love what you do, thank you for continuing to inspire us.
Wow! I love Amy!!! I follow her on numerous platforms. She’s so fun and vibrant. I love everything she does professionally and with her friends and family. She’s so inspirational. This book would be a great addition!!!! Can’t wait to grab one
Loved the podcast and hearing Catherine talk about the amazing connections that are formed in this wonderful crafting industry, specifically her Crop & Create Events. I can attest to that. I took a leap of faith 5 years ago and attended one of her events by myself and made life long friends that weekend! We as readers and friends of SCT, are truly grateful for Catherine’s vision all those years ago and for her courage to kick fear to the curb. We love SCT!
Amy T.’s book…I would love to win it!
Amy has been around in the craft world for quite a while, I am sure her insight is amazing! I must check out the podcast.
I would love to read this book. I think her creativity and style is so amazing. Thanks for the chance to win.
I heard so many things that stood out for me but some that I actually wrote down were it isnt always perfect at first and that is ok, start small and grow, and always keep yourself open to possibilities. I enjoyed listening to Catherine and Amy together, I’m bummed I cannot go to the Create and Inspire 2020 event.
I need this book! As an elementary art teacher I expend so much energy inspiring over 600 kids a week to be creative which leaves so little time and energy for me to pay attention to my own creative journey. I could definitely use some guidance!
What a great podcast! Very inspiring. Especially loved hearing how Scrapbook and Cards came to be.
I wish I could read this book! I so like Amy’s personality, her way of seeing life. I think she could teach me a lot of things.
Loved hearing about the Crop and Create event in Cornwall were we celebrated Catherine’s 50th Birthday (or soon to be). There were tears of happiness shed that weekend. We love being at an event and Catherine & crew do an amazing job.
Also loved hearing about 1 lady who went to an event by herself and Catherine put her at a table with a group of 9 other ladies, who knew each other. This one act started a great friendship for all these ladies. Catherine the match maker :)
Cool book wjth interesting topic. Wiuld be neat to win. Agree, not everything statts out perfect, seldom is that true
Amy’s podcast is in my regular feed. It is wonderful to hear about women making creativity work in their lives. I take something away from each interview.
I’ve been struggling lately, and I’ve decided it’s because my passion and job aren’t aligned. I just feel unfulfilled when I’m not creative! Can’t wait to get a copy of this book. Sounds like it’s just what I need!
Loved Catherine’s comments about scrapbooking being a community. It made me reflect on my scrapbooking community and the joy and friendships it has brought my wayou, for years.
What a great podcast! So inspirational.
